Frost awoke to his eccentric clawmate Starfruit shaking him. "Time for our first classes!" She announced.

Frost blinked, yawning. The RainWing (NightWing?) had deep purple scales, dark green underscales, and bright pink wings with stars on them.

"We get to meet our winglet today!" She said excitedly to her NightWing friend, Starcounter.

"I hope some of our friends are there," She replied.

Frost blinked as he got up. He gave a start of alarm as he realized that his armband was lying on the floor, and the ground near his ice block was slightly encrusted with frost. He scrambled to grab his armband, which freezed at the touch of his claws. He shoved it on his arm. It thawed immediately. Glancing around worriedly, he saw that his clawmates had already left. Grabbing the map Starflight had given him, he hurried after them.

Frost arrived in a cave with his clawmates. A black, blue and yellow SilkWing, a green, orange, and blue SilkWing, a red and brown MudWing, a teal SeaWing, a black and tan SandWing, and an amber and brown SkyWing was standing in the classroom, along with Tsunami.

"Bumble! Moth!" Starfruit said excitedly, running over to the SilkWings. "You're in our winglet!"

"Now we're just waiting on our LeafWing," Tsunami said. She turned to the SilkWings. "Bumble, Moth, isn't Holly Berry sharing a cave with you? Why didn't she come with you?"

The black, yellow, and blue SilkWing (Who Frost assumed was Bumble) shrugged. "She growled and snapped and snarled when we tried to wake her."

A pale green LeafWing with patches of golden scales stomped in, looking angry and... unfriendly, to say the least. She glared at everyone in the room. "What's the point of this?" She snapped at Tsunami. "I'm not learning anything.

"You learn how the school works," Tsunami retorted, frowning at her.

"I know how it works. You sit in a cave and listen to boring teachers talk all day."

Tsunami was full-on glaring now. "First of all, one of your mothers are one of those 'boring teachers.' Second, you also get to meet other dragonets who might actually enjoy this. So keep your rude opinions to yourself, Holly Berry."

"Holly!" The LeafWing yelled.

"Anyway," Tsunami said. "We're doing things a bit different this year. Usually, the classes are all required and you go to them as a whole winglet. This year, we'll have both winglet classes and classes you choose to take. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, you'll have winglet classes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you'll have the classes you chose, which you'll be choosing today. Next is something that we've done for about 2 years, but we'll be having a school tournament this year. We'll have competitions that any tribe can enter, but one tribe will most likely win. For example, a SandWing can enter a flying race, but a SkyWing will most likely win. And we'll have competitions that any tribe has a chance in, like an art contest. Lastly, we'll have our second school dance this year. Any questions?"

The SeaWing raised her talon. "Didn't you say you'll be leading a swim team, Mom?"

Frost blinked in surprise at the word 'Mom.'

Tsunami nodded. "I will, which the deadline to sign up for is the end of the month."

Nobody else raised their talons, so Tsunami said. "Alright. Now we'll do introductions." She nodded at the MudWing. "Want to go first?"

"Sure," he replied. "I'm Ember. I'm a SkyWing-MudWing hybrid, and my parents are Clay and Lady Peril."

"Did Clay name you after his brother, Umber?" The SeaWing asked. Ember nodded. "Who's location is still unknown,"
