"So what's your opinion on the new team?"
"Isn't it a bit too early for you to ask me that? So far, all I can confirm is that they are carefully picked out for this mission. Their only weakness is that they have little to no idea what they are dealing with," the Captain said as he took another sip of his coffee.
"Yeah. Let's hope we have more luck this time. Hopefully no traitors."
"We performed all safety measures possible this time. All the halls which lead to Russia's containment cell are denied access to all crew members except you and me. Security cameras are removed to avoid anyone breaking into the security system. All communication devices are required to be turned off unless if there's an emergency, to avoid eavesdropping or tracking. The communication gear is replaced with a better one, so we have plenty of time before someone figures out how to cut our communications again."
"Good. That's at least half of the work done. Has or old team left?"
"Not yet. But they will any minute now. How come that you refuse to say goodbye to them?"
"Because I feel like I've failed them?"
The Captain raised an eyebrow at him.
"You never failed anyone."
"Perl Harbor?"
"The attack wasn't announced. But still how are things going with Japan? Any news?"
"Classified information."
"Not so good huh?"
"Depends on how you look at it."
America got up and grabbed a folder from his nightstand. He handed it over to the Captain before sitting back down.
He observed him while he read through the document. He seemed kinda surprised with the information he was given but showed no sigh of disapproval.
"Well I can't say that you're wrong for this, considering what they did to us," the Captain said as he put the document back into the folder.
"I hate to do this but I have no other choice. This is our war now too."
"Seems so."
"Anyway let's go back to the important things. Like how we're going to find Russia?"
"Well, considering that he's unfamiliar with the area he probably wouldn't go too far away from the facility."
"Define too far. He's not a human. His body is genetically designed to survive in the extreme conditions of this part of the hemisphere."
"True. But he still wouldn't go wandering around this cold desert. We're all he has and all he considers a home."
"I can't disagree on that. How about we start patrolling around the area. The two of us and a few more soldiers. If he's anywhere near the facility we'll probably run up on him eventually."
"That's not a bad idea. I'll take care of that by the end of the day."
"It's good to know that I can count on you."
"Don't mention it. I'm here to serve my country. I'll be at your service whenever you need me or for whatever you need me."
"You don't seem disappointed about not getting sent home with the other's."
"I'm not. I hate leaving my work unfinished."
America smiled to himself and nodded.
"Well, that would be all for now. Go get some rest. And I'll go talk to the new team."
