3:30pm Auditorium AU university
"Oonchi-oonchi diwaroo si Is duniya ki rasmein Ho na kuch tere bas mein Julie Na kuch mere bas mein Dil kya kare jab kisi se Kisi ko pyar ho jaaye Jaane kahan kab kisi ko Kisi se pyar ho jaaye" I started humming my favorite lines from the song when suddenly Sakshi, my senior, walks in after finishing a call and says, "Pranjal, can you please handle the rest? I have to leave urgently. I hope you don’t mind." Only the two of us were left in the auditorium, cleaning up after a seminar. Being part of a club is tough—it’s all about managing things and making sure everything is done perfectly. I want it to reflect well on us. I look at her and nod. "Sure, Di, you can go. I’ll finish up and leave soon." I give her a small smile. She thanks me, pats my shoulder, grabs her bag, and heads out, closing the door behind her. I sigh and get back to arranging the chairs. Most of the work was done, just a few finishing touches were left.
To make it less boring, I decided to play some music—after all, no one’s going to show up now. I unlock my phone, open Spotify, and hit shuffle, hoping it plays something good. I place my phone on a chair and continue working. After an ad, the music starts, and I smile when I hear one of my favorite songs, "Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye" from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Sometimes, Spotify really gets it right!
Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye Aake mujhe chhed jaaye Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye Aake mujhe chhed jaaye Use kahon kabhi saamne to aaye
The song starts playing, and I can’t help but sing along. I mean, it’s my favorite movie, my favorite song, and of course, it’s Lata Mangeshkar—who wouldn’t vibe to this?
Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye Aake mujhe chhed jaaye Use kahon kabhi saamne to aaye Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye.
