As the alarm clock on Yn's desk buzzed insistently, she groaned and turned it off, realizing it was already 6 am. She stretched, yawned, and pushed her glasses up her nose, then sluggishly made her way to the bathroom for her morning routine. After a quick tooth-brushing and a refreshing shower, she felt slightly more awake.
Opening her wardrobe, Yn eyed her school uniform with a mix of reluctance and resignation. With a sigh, she slipped into it and gathered her books, stuffing them haphazardly into her backpack. She knew they'd probably end up scattered on the floor by the end of the day anyway. With a shrug, she zipped up her bag and headed out of her room into the hallway, where her mom stood with luggage.
"Good morning, Mom," Yn greeted, with a smile always ignoring her mother's grumpy demeanor.
"What's so good about the morning?" her mother retorted, her tone full with annoyance. Yn was accustomed to her mother's demeanor but endeavored to maintain a positive attitude nonetheless.
Despite her mother's sharp words, Yn gethered the courage to enquire her mother, "Where are you going so early, Mom?". Her mother's abrupt response left Yn bewildered. "I'm going to America," she stated firmly.
Yn's confusion grew. "But, Mom, you just got back yesterday," she pointed out, trying to make sense of the sudden departure.
Her mother's frustration boiled over, her voice rising sharply as she retorted, "I came back only for some paperwork. What's the point of staying here when My husband is in America?"
Yn flinched as her mother's words pierced through her, stirring up a whirlwind of conflicting emotions within her. The urge to lash out, to beg her mother not to leave her alone again, surged within her like a raging storm. She couldn't help but wonder why she always seemed to be the one left behind, an afterthought in her parents' lives.
And what does mean My husband why doesn't she says your father, the realization that her father's presence was as rare as a shooting star, coupled with the painful memory of having to initiate contact with him, only deepened Yn's sense of abandonment. Was she just a burden, a mere inconvenience to her parents?
The thought of being left in Japan with a abusive babysitter added another layer of despair to Yn's already heavy heart. She yearned for the warmth and security of her parents' love, yet it seemed to slip further away with each passing moments.
Despite the turmoil raging within her, Yn remained silent, her lips sealed tight against the torrent of emotions threatening to spill out. She knew that attempting to reason with her mother would be futile, only serving to further distance them.
As her mother hastily gathered her belongings and headed for the door, leaving Yn alone in the wake of her departure, a old found sense of loneliness engulfed her. She struggled to find solace in the silence that now filled the house, grappling with the harsh reality of her situation and the profound sense of abandonment that seemed to weigh her down like an anchor.
With a heavy heart, Yn watched as her mother disappeared from view, leaving behind an echoing emptiness in the house. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she fought to hold them back, refusing to succumb to the overwhelming wave of sadness threatening to consume her.
Alone in the silence, Yn felt the weight of her emotions pressing down on her like a suffocating blanket. She longed for someone to reach out, to offer comfort and understanding in her moment of need. But the walls seemed to close in around her, suffocating her with their suffocating embrace. Yn resigned herself to the fact that she would have to face the year ahead again without her parents presence. Despite the lingering sense of unease, she knew she had to carry on with her routine and prepare for school.
