Sukuna crossed his arms over his chest and approached her like a cop in an interrogation room. "Yeah, you."

"Me?" Yn peered up at him like he was crazy. If he thought she would do him any favors, then he's really crazy.

"I'm looking at you, aren't I?" Sukuna's snotty tone and condescending stare made her want to say "Yes" and then crash the damn car in the hopes he'd be the one to break into tears.

Yn blew him off and looked at Toji Fushigro. "Toji, can we get an early start to that bonfire? I'm bored here." Turning around, ignoring Toji's dumbfounded look, She headed for the edge of the crowd.

A hand hooked Yn at the crook of her elbow and gently pulled her to a stop. She looked up to see Sukuna struggling to meet her eyes.

"Can I talk to you?" His voice was hushed, and his demeanor gentle. It had been so long, She had forgotten how human he could be. Though, it wasn't enough for her to forget how horrible he'd been, either.

"No," Yn spat out the same, flat response he'd given to her years ago when she had asked him to return back her personal diary.

Sukuna took a breath. "You know how hard this is for me." He looked away and then back again. "I need you," he sighed, sounding defeated back again.

Yn sucked in a breath at those words. He needed me? By the way he breathed through his nose and wouldn't make eye contact, She knew he was uncomfortable saying those words. Part of her wanted to help him, but the other part of her just wanted to walk away. Where was he when she had needed him in the past?

She hated herself for, even a moment, considering that She could forgive him for everything after uttering those three simple words. Too little, too late.

"And tomorrow when you don't need me? Will I be shit under your boot again?" Her response was angrier than she had planned. Yn resented how easily she found herself caving to him. "She'll do it," Toji called out over Sukuna's shoulder. Yn hadn't realized that he was standing near them, but when She looked up she noticed Toji and Mahito crashing their conversation, too. Her heart speeds up again.

"Toji!" Yn chastised. "You don't speak for me. And I'm not doing it!" She directed the last to Sukuna.

"You want to," Toji retorted. And he was right.

Yn wanted to drive Sukuna's car badly. She wanted to show all of these people what she was made of. She wanted to show Sukuna that she was worth something.

And it was that thought that made her want to walk away. She didn't have to prove anything to him. She knew her worth, and She didn't need his approval.

"Perhaps," Yn conceded. "But I do have pride. He's not getting a damn thing from me."

"Thank you." Sukuna cut off Toji before he had a chance to respond.

"For what?" Yn shot back.

"For reminding me of what a disappointing, self-serving bitch you are," Sukuna gritted through his teeth as he got in her face. Heat rose to her head as she started to feel like words weren't enough anymore.

Her arms went stiff, her finger curling into fists. Yn was fantasizing about having Sukuna handcuffed while She punched the crap out of him.

Before She could respond with a snarky comeback, Mahito snapped, "That's enough. Both of you." He stepped between them, switching his glare from Sukuna to Yn. "Right now, I don't give a fuck what the history is between you two, but we need asses in that car. People will lose a hell of a lot of money."

Mahito rolled up his sleeves as if he was going to personally throw them into the car. "Sukuna? You're going to lose a lot of money. And Yn? You think everyone treated you badly before? Two-thirds of the people here tonight bet on Sukuna. When they hear that his first choice turned him down, the rest of your university year will be hell without Sukuna or me having to lift a finger. Now, the both of you, get in the goddamn car!"
