It was very quiet, a little too quiet. All SCP-8071 could hear was the flickering of the light bulb and sound of her hands flipping through the book she was reading, it was always so quiet and dark in this room. But soon, a loud alarm went off, then the door to the containment chamber opened. SCP-8071 was a bit confused by this, she placed the book down, stood up and walked towards the door. Her eyes remained focused on the door and nothing else, she just stared and didn't blink. SCP-8071 soon realized this so she blinked a few times to make herself seem less creepy just in case she ran into a foundation staff member, SCP-8071 walked out of the containment chamber and was now in the hallway. SCP-8071 quickly hid behind the wall next to the door in her containment chamber once she heard a few armed guards running past, she heard their walkie talkies and apparently a few Euclid class SCP's breached containment. SCP-8071 looked around the hallway and made sure that there were not any researchers or mobile task force members that could attempt to put her back into her cell, SCP-8071 wanted to escape this foundation and see nature again, but that would be a difficult task. SCP-8071 eventually saw a testing room that was open, the light from the room shined into the hallway.
SCP-8071 walked into the room out of curiosity, the room had a certain smell to it, sort of like a lavender like smell. SCP-8071 saw a tall figure in what seemed to be black robe like attire, the man seemed to busy with something that was on the table. SCP-8071 walked closer and saw a corpse on the table, it seemed to be the decaying body of a researcher. The man then turned his head and looked down to see SCP-8071, the man had a bird like mask and this surprised SCP-8071 as she had seen that mask in the book she was reading, she remembered it as a plague doctor mask, it was a mask that doctors would wear during medieval Europe when the bubonic plague began to spread. SCP-8071 tilted her head, was this a human in some sort of costume? "Oh, hello there little one. You too are a patient I presume, a patient infected with the pestilence" SCP-049 said, his voice quiet and calm. SCP-8071 was even more confused, she raised an eyebrow and said, "Pestilence? patient? I don't understand." The plague doctor nodded in understanding, "Of course you don't understand, you are a patient and I am the doctor. Worry not my dear patient, for I have been studying this dreadful disease for eons. I believe I can cure you, and because it seems like you have a more severe case of the pestilence the patient I am working on here will simply be placed somewhere else to rest and will be cured later on." SCP-049 stated, SCP-049 picked the patient he was working on up and he placed the corpse in a chair in the corner, the dead body's skin smelled bad and it was turning a little green.
"Sit on this examination table, and I will see where the problem is." SCP-049 said, the plague doctor grabbed a few tools from a nearby table as SCP-8071 sat on the table, SCP-049 gently used his hand to grab SCP-8071's head gently and see if she had any injuries. SCP-049 was surprised to see that SCP-8071 didn't immediately go unconscious like the other patients he had simply touched with his hand, this was a sign that SCP-8071 can be cured. "What's your name?" SCP-8071 asked curiously. "The people at this foundation call me SCP-049, but I prefer to simply be called doctor." SCP-049 answered. SCP-8071 nodded in understanding, she stayed silent and still for the rest of the examination.
SCP-049 reached out and gently felt for SCP-8071's pulse, he was still surprised that she hadn't died at his touch. Most people simply dropped dead when SCP-049 touched them, the only notable difference was SCP-8071 getting a bit sleepy and yawning. SCP-8071's vitals seemed normal, SCP-049 studied SCP-8071 for about an hour, some of his questions were answered, but more questions appeared in SCP-049's head. SCP-049 grabbed a wet towel and tried to wipe SCP-8071's hands with it, he thought that there might have been dirt or paint on SCP-8071's fingers but it was just normal pigmentation. However, that still doesn't answer the question as to why SCP-8071 had pigmented fingers or strange looking eyes. Soon, a few Mobile Task Force members barged in the room. They pointed their guns at SCP-8071 and SCP-049.
"PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!" One MTF member said.
Upon hearing this, SCP-8071 and SCP-049 put their hands up but they both seemed unafraid of the armed MTF members. The Mobile Task Force members detained SCP-049 and walked him back to his cell, they also handcuffed SCP-8071 with a little less force and took her back to her cell.SCP-8071 didn't struggle at all, she just followed the MTF members. SCP-8071 looked around the hallway, it was the same boring white hallway. Finally, they arrived at the containment cell. SCP-8071 went inside, she was left alone in the cell once more. It was very boring in the containment cell, it was a bit dark and cold. SCP-8071 looked at her fingers, she sighed. Was she really that scary looking? No researchers even wanted to look at her, she wishes she was normal. If she was like a normal kid, she would go to school and learn. If she was a normal kid, she would have loving parents who cared about her, unlike most of the researchers at this foundation. If SCP-8071 was a normal child, she wouldn't even be at this foundation. SCP-8071 was thinking, thinking about what she was exactly and why she was so... Different. Why was everyone so scared of her? Why did she have to be so abnormal compared to the other human beings in this foundation. SCP-8071 was already aware that she wasn't human, but why was she like this and not a human? These thought raced through SCP-8071's head as she sat in silence.
