Plot: Liu Kang had never known his family before Raiden found him and brought him to the Shaolin temple but after the events of Mkx and the revenants being saved, he seemed lost after Kitana had chosen Kui Laing as her consort to appease Outworld. During a celebration of victory, a group of mystics showed up and kneeled to Liu Kang saying the son of their leader had been found, prompting Liu Kang to call out Raiden for lying to him and leave the others behind to follow the mystics and find more about his family
Years later when a new tournament is coming Liu Kang returns with many new things
New allies
a new look
and a new name
The Shredder
Armor: shredder in hell armor from the comics
His appearance: MK X with scars
Personality wise he'll still be the same Liu Kang we know and love but with more of an edge to him
For example, when Reiko decides to mock his heritage, Liu Kang violently beats him to the point of even Shao Khan is horrified by it
He also injured Kotal by ripping one of his eyes
Romance: probably Kitana or maybe I might go with Skarlet or even Sheeva
As for other ideas
Jin from Tekken is the Tatsu of the clan
Bi Han is his right hand after being resurrected and he brutalized Kabal
Rain is a secret agent working for Liu Kang
The Foot has a history in Outworld
Kung Lao and Kung Jin join Liu Kang, showing their family bond is stronger
