I jumped up and grabbed my phone from my bedside.
"Hello?" I spoke wearily into my phone.
"Girl, are you okay? Did you not read the name on the screen?" Ezra said in a questioning voice, "You're acting like I'm some random person calling you for ransom!"
"Yahhhh, that kinda slipped my mind," I said with an apologetic shrug.
"Why did you call me and not facetime me?" I asked because we usually facetime.
"Oh, well I didn't think about that. Here let's get on facetime". He said as he hung up the phone. I got another call and answered. I saw his raven black hair with his blue eyes that looked sorta purple in his led lit room.
"Much better!" He said, "Now what were you thinking about?" He asked me with a smile on his face.
"I was thinking about the 8th grade gardening club party," I mentally slapped myself because I didn't want to bring it up and he also gets super annoyed when I bring it up.
He looked at me with an annoyed face, " You're still thinking about that! Let it go! It happened ages ago no one even remembers except you!"
"I know, I know but I know they still remember it because no one ever talks to me. They just think I'm a sad pick me girl who backstabbed my best friend, my own gardening club, in the back and you only hang out with me because you pity me!" I am getting really frustrated now. I wanted nothing more for that memory to be locked away forever in an airtight vault in the back of my mind.
"You're doing it again" Ezra looked at me with sympathy, " Like I said before I don't hang out with you because I pity you. I just see what no one else sees, that you are an amazing, kind, passionate, and trustworthy friend. They just used that situation as an excuse to push somebody out of the popular group." He said with kindness. We always said we were like siblings, who don't look alike. We even celebrate our birthday together because birthdays are only a couple days apart.
"Thank you Ez-, you mean so much to me. You're like the brother I never had." I wanted to cry because no one ever treated me like Ezra, not even my own family treated me with so much affection.
He stared at me in adoration, "Don't mention it, remember Ella you are just as much a family to me as my own sister is."
He always makes me feel better, he acknowledges my problems, then helps me fix them. We don't really have the kinda love for romance more like sibling love. Where we will always be there for each other but also make fun of each other is when we do something embarrassing.
"Anyway, what I called you for.... Since we are starting high school in a couple of days, ... I was thinking~~~~~~~," I was getting kinda suspicious from how he looked.
"What is it, just say it!" I was dying with anticipation.
"SHOPPING SPREE AND SLEEPOVER!!!" He said with lots of enthusiasm which made me excited too.
"OMG YES YES!!! That's gonna be so fun. All I need is my parents' permission...." I kinda sighed at this. Asking my parents for things is tough because they are very strict about some things, but they've known Ezra since we were in the 6th grade so it should be fine... right?
"Hey don't sweat it girlie, they have said yes to other sleep overs, also they trust me and my parents, so they should say yes for sure! Also my parents are laid back and love you so they'll say yes to anything involving you," he said very cheerfully with determination.
"Yah your right, I should ask them right now, so we can have it tonight!" I was excited about my new plans with Ezra. "You should go check in with your parents too so they know i'll be coming"
