Toni looked up at Cheryl then looked down again

Cheryl: chad can you take the others upstairs quickly

Chad: um yeah he said walking upstairs with Cassidy and Delilah

Cheryl then looked back at Amara: so you are

Amara: Yeah but can you tell my mum that it's not as big a deal as she's making it out to be

Cheryl: well no because it is as big a deal your 13 years old Amara you have a whole life ahead of you

Amara: well my baby is apart of my life now so you lot just need to get used to it she said with attitude

Toni: Get used to it are you fucking with me Amara your bloody pregnant you can't just get over that

Amara: yeah I'm pregnant and so what you were pregnant with me at this age so we all knew it was only a matter of time before I became pregnant at 13 like mother like daughter she said storming off upstairs with Chase

Toni got up and Cheryl wiped her tears

Toni: am I really that bad at being a mother

Cheryl: What no your not a bad mother at all

Toni: well I clearly am I didn't even realise my daughter was having sex let alone getting pregnant

Cheryl: you can't control what your kids do when there out of sight you can't watch them every 2 seconds

Toni: yeah I know that but come on i taught her about safe sex I told her about what happened with me at 13 but clearly she took no notice to that did she

Cheryl: yeah I know but kids don't listen honestly everything I say to Chad goes straight out the other ear there teenagers it's what they do

Toni took a deep breath: I know I just never expected her to be so reckless and stupid but even then that's not the worst bit I still need to find out who the fucking dad is

Cheryl: Toni listen i know your shocked and angry but you know Amara probably wasn't even thinking when she did it she would have never of planed to get pregnant so right now all you need to think about is your daughter  because you know she is in the most valuable scared state at the minute she's just found out she's having a baby that's not easy for anyone to accept let alone a 13 year old and you would know because you've been in her position just think how you felt telling your parents that is exactly what you're child is thinking right now

Toni suddenly jumped back into reality

Toni: difference was my dad was dead beat and my mum was just fucked up my dad ran off when I told him I was pregnant then my mum committed suicide Amara has absolutely nothing on that she lives in a house with a good mum and her siblings yes her dad didn't want to know but that was never my fault

Cheryl: Yes I know but you just have to talk to her calmly you need to think it's her body Toni if she wants to keep this baby whether you want it or not it's her choice you can't force her into making a decision she's got to do that on her own

Toni: I know shes gonna struggle like hell raising a baby isn't easy

Cheryl: and thats because you had to do it on your own without any help Toni at least Amara has an amazing mum who can support her no matter what she decides now come here she said pulling Toni in for a hug

Toni eventually calmed down with Cheryl's help: I guess there isn't much I can really do is there if she wants to take on this huge life changing responsibility then that's something I'm just going to have to deal with

Cheryl: exactly all you've got to do Is be there by her side every step of the way no judgement or anger just love and support

Toni: alright I guess I'm just going to have to have a massive sit down and explain to her how life changing a baby really is
