Chapter 6

"So what happened?" 

At napatingin ako kay Jake. We are at cafeteria and eating lunch. "What happened saan?"

"Maybe i should rephrased the question to bakit ka pinaiwan ni Dulce?" Pag-uulit na tanong ni Jake sakin. 

"Ms. Dulce." I corrected him because i find it disrespectful lalo't hindi naman sila close or whatever. "She just asked about something." Of course i lied, wala pwedeng makaalam sa nangyari samin ni Prof. It can jeopardize her job and i will not happen. "About Mommy Mars."

"Oh.." He has a thoughtful look. "Why? I mean what did she asked?

Masyadong chismoso tong si Jake sa mga nangyayari samin ni Dulce, paano pa kaya kung alam nya yong one night stand namin.

I wipe my lips. "Crush mo ba sya at masyado kang interesado?" 

And from his food, he looks up to me. "Si Ms. Dulce?" Sabay tawa. "Well, she's really pretty, very  attractive,sexy — alam mo yong hugis ng katawan —"

"Don't sexualized her." Pagpigil ko sa kaibigan ko. I hate it. 

Jake shrug his shoulder. "Im not sexualizing her dinedescribe ko lang yun features nya."

"Sure Jake, sure." Natatawa ko na sabi with full if sarcasm.

"Ms. Dulce is every man's dreams but not for me, you know." Parang nangangarap si Jake habang nakatingin sakin. I already know where this conversation is heading. "Bakit kasi hindi mo ako mapagbigyan Sol? Pogi naman ako, mayaman, matalino."

And I take my sweet time forking the broccoli in my plate. "It's not that ayaw ko Jake." Nagtitigan kaming dalawa. "But don't want to give you false hope either, because for me you are my friend. A very good and trusted friend." 

Sumandal si Jake sa upuan without breaking an eye to me. "I don't know if i should take it a heartbreak or compliment."

At hinawakan ko ang kamay ng kaibigan ko. "Take it positively Jake." He is out of words. "Let's not ruin this friendship. Besides.. You know I'm not into guys right?"

"I know." Sagot nya.

"Then.." 

"Fine." Jake sigh. "Magwawala talaga ako kapag nag boyfriend ka Solana at hindi ako."

Natawa ako. "That's so impossible Jake."

"But I'm curious, bakit lahat ng The Rank girls are lesbian? I mean no offense Solana ha." Alam ko naman na genuine ang tanong nya.

Pero bakit nga ba?

"Hindi ko alam." Sagot ko naman.

Because how would i know? Ako ba author?

Umuwi muna ako sa  penthouse since 2pm pa ang next class ko.

At pag bukas ng elevator sa penthouse ay pamilyar na tawa agad ang bumungad sakin. 

I cant be wrong. 

Kaya lumapit ako sa may garden kung nasaan sina Sophia at Rice — even if she told us to call her Rais. Rice is uniquely weird and i like it. 

And they both look at my direction. But i know they have company. But who?

"Speaking of the devil." Sabi ni Sophia habang nakatingin sakin. 

And the chair of the person they are talking to is slowly turn to me. Her cocky smile greet me. "Solana."

I look at her confused. "Tita Eris, what are you doing here?"

"I'm going to ask Rice for a date." Walang gatol na sagot ni Tita sakin. 

Nag-init agad ang tenga ko. "What!?" I'm horrified. "No way!" At tumingin ako kay Rice na as usual tahimik lang. "Makikipagdate ka sa kanya!? She's 35—"
