It was when she entertained his constant desire to interact with her, that she began to realise his intentions may not be so pure. He became obsessive quickly, during face to face engagements she found his eyes were becoming darker, more mysterious than the initial glint she first observed. Although the look in his eyes made her feel uneasy, the mysteriousness became all the more exciting.

The man not only turned up in places that he knew she would be, but also started to to show a jealous streak. He asked who she was speaking to and what kind of relationships she had with her associates on each occasion she engaged with someone. The young women strongly advised him that he should stop intruding or their friendship would conclude. The man felt something; something he had never felt before, could this be guilt? He quickly apologised, he agreed that he could be perceived as jealous and confirmed that he would lessen the intenseness; at least for a while.

Months passed; during this time the two of them developed a long-standing bond, still the young women endeavouring not to amuse the man's efforts to plague her with affectionate offerings. As the time passed she discovered the darkness in his eyes was variable, for the most part she found them enticing, enchanting her into a world of unknown possibilities; if she allowed it.

The man was cunning, he knew that he had her just where he wanted her. He played the role of the martyr as brilliantly as he played the role of the villain, he had a powerful ability to transition between characters on-demand. Just as his charm became intensified, his eyes became intimidating, the power he had over her was fierce, yet she did not recognise this.

The increasing time they spent together, allowed him to occupy additional space in her thoughts. The women began to surrender her initial disregard of relationships and became increasingly captivated by his charm, and he knew it.

That darkness in his eyes was still undeniably visible but when hypnotised by his appealing presence, it could be effortless to look past this. That darkness in his eyes is like looking into a bottomless pit of despair, emptiness, nothingness.

Those frequent appearances led to a friendship. That friendship led to a deeper interest. Now they find themselves in each others attendance and craving more.
