Katerina

We leave in two days. TWO DAYS! This is my last shift of work until we get back from the concert. Mia had been blowing my phone up all week about packing my bags and I still haven't gotten around to doing it. She's going kill me. But I'm leaving an hour earlier tonight to be able to do it, so it's done and I don't have to throw things in a bag last minute.

My stalker is still out there. I haven't received any more packages though. The knocking has been about the same, about two nights a week. I've kind of grown use to it which I know is crazy but it's like clock work. Always three bangs then nothing else. I haven't told anyone about it, I mean Mia knows from the first time it happened but that's it. I never told her about anything else, I don't want to chance her.

I finally made it home and started packing. I've got The summoning blasting through my speakers, dancing and in the groove of packing. I've packed the outfit I'm wearing to the concert, sleep wear, bras and panties, coming home outfit, and laid my travel outfit out.  I'm packing my toiletries when my music cuts off and the phone starts ringing. Who could that be? I walk to my phone and see that it's Mia calling. She's probably making sure I'm packing my bags like I told her I was going to do.

"I'm packing now don't worry,"

"Is this Katerina Smith?" A young female voice that's definitely not my best friend cuts me off.

"Yes. Who is this?"

"This is Jackie, I'm a nurse at the hospital your friend Mia has you listed as her emergency contact."

"OH MY GOD IS MIA OKAY!?"

"You friend has been in an accident we need you to come to the hospital as soon as possible Ms. Smith."

I hang up the phone and run to the hospital. I could have caught the bus or taxi or something but my brain was just set on getting to the hospital. To get to my friend. Please let her be okay, please!

.......

I get to the hospital and don't stop running until I get to the front desk.

"Mia Diaz!"

The lady behind the counter picks up the phone and calls someone. Why isn't she telling me where my friend is? Or taking me to her. Another nurse comes out and says she will take me to my friend but she wanted to talk to me beforehand.

" I just want to prepare you. She hasn't woken up yet. We had to take her into surgery and remove her appendix. She's stable for now we just have to wait and see how she is when she wakes up."

We walk into the room and I don't recognize her. She's got cuts and bruises all over her face and arms . A tube down her throat. Blood in her hair. She's covered up with a blanket so I can't see her lower half but one leg looks bigger than the other.

"What happened?"

"She was in a car wreck. We aren't sure how it happened. We had to take her appendix out and she broke her leg and she's got a concussion, but other than that there seems that nothing else is wrong. She should be waking up soon. I'll just be out here if she wakes up or you need anything."

I nod my head because I don't know what else to say. I slowly walk over to my best friend. I sit down beside her injured body and take her hand.

"Oh Mia, please wake up I can't loose you. You have to wake up. You have to be okay."

I can't hold back the tears anymore. I lay my head down on her hand and let them flow freely. I'm praying to anyone that is listening to let my best friend be okay. She's all I have left. My parents does two months before my 18th birthday. I can't looseher this close to my birthday. I can loose her at all. She's always there.

As I'm laying here begging for my best friend to be okay, I feel something touch my head. I raise up and see her big brown eyes looking at me with such sorrow. I gasp and tell her I'll be right back and I go get the nurse.
