(POV: Third person)

Today seems to be so bright. It is sunny, but not the type to irritate the skin. It is the type that spreads and warms the heart of many, especially those in love. It comes along with hope for a new beginning. It is also today that a few persons are trying to battle with the 'what if' questions in there head.

"Assalamualaikum Abbu. Good afternoon. How are you doing?", Zayyan greeted Naina's father by the door. Her father replied with "Alhamdulillah my son. It is so nice to see you on this wonderful day. How are you, and your parents at home? What of my daughter, Yesmin? I haven't seen her for quite some time?". "She is doing well sir. I am fine and everyone is fine sir. Recently, Yesmin is busy with a work, so she is always at home doing research. I only know that it is related with apothecary stuffs.". "May Allah help you all. Come in.", Naina's father says.

Zayyan scanned the house looking for the one and only girl who stole his heart and kept it captive for a long time. He was no longer nervous as he sat down and waited for her to come. Her father already left the sitting room to give them privacy, just enough, but not completely alone.

(POV: Naina)

I was aware of the time he came in. I could hear my dad sharing pleasantries with him. Oh goodness, why am I getting the jitters? He is my friend who had a secret crush on me for only God knows since when. Anyways, I am ready to meet him I guess. I checked the mirror to see if everything is in check. Today, I am wearing a purple abaya with silver linings. I added a tinge of kohl on my eyes and a nude lip gloss. I am not the make up type, so....

"Knock knock.", I heard a knock on my door. 'I guess it is time.'. I went to open the door and saw my mom waiting outside. "He is here. Are you ready Naina?". "Yes ummi.", I replied. My mom gave me a full look and smiled. "Ok then. Don't get too nervous, alright? Just be yourself. And don't be too hard on Zayyan.". I nodded. With that my mom gave me way to walk straight to the parlour where he was sitting, waiting for me. "Assalamualaikum.". Upon hearing my arrival, he stood up and replied "Wa'alaikumussalam.".

Am I the only one shocked? We are a little less or more twinning. He is wearing a purple kaftan that has silver designs on it.
'No wonder ummi smiled. She must have seen him wearing the same colour as me.', I thought.

After we sat down, he said "It's like you stole my colour code today.". I smiled and replied "Nope, you are the one that stole mine.". He then smiled at me. Oh my, I think I am going to faint. This guy in front of me looks so handsome, and when he smiles, two cute dimples appear just below his cheeks. Masha-Allah.

We kept on talking for a while. I asked him about Yesmin. "She is busy with some work. I have never seen her this serious before.". "What is the work about?", I asked. "I also don't know. She is mostly in her room doing research on plants I guess. I once tried to check on what the project is, but I got chased out by an angry Yesmin. She seems to want it to be kept as a secret.". "Ohhhh. Back when she was still in university, she once told me that she wanted to open up a secret underground apothecary. After she is done, she will leave the country and go on world research for precious unique plants. I thought she was joking then. Don't tell her I told you about it.", I said to Zayyan.

"I won't. I hope her secret project becomes a success, if that's what she really wants.", He said. I hope so too. Yesmin is hardly ever serious about anything. Since she finally found passion on something, I hope it goes well.
