"Can you hand me my AirPods?" I ask.

Y/n stares at me and I furrow my eyebrows.

"I have no clue what you just said." Y/n says.

"That little case right there." I say, pointing.

Y/n hands them to me and I open the case.

"What's that?" Y/n asks.

"They're wireless headphones." I say.

"I'll pretend I know what that means." Y/n says.

I raise an eyebrow and she looks back down at her book. I put my headphones in and open TikTok.

My For You page loads and I scroll down a few.

"50 years ago today, this woman disappeared and people believe it was because of time travel." Daniel says.

Ugh, conspiracy theory TikTok has to be the worst. I love Daniel but I hate the conspiracy videos.

"Her name was Y/n Y/l/n and-" Daniel says as I scroll.

I freeze and scroll back up.

"What?" I mumble.

"Her name was Y/n Y/l/n and she was born on March 6th 1955 in Texas. On the night of March 16th, 1974, Y/n was at home with her uncle, twin brother, and little sister." Daniel says.

"Y/n's sister went missing and her uncle was asleep so she and her brother set out to find her sister. Upon entering the garage, Y/n was shoved into a tanning bed by her sister who wanted to play a little prank on her." Daniel says.

"After being locked in the tanning bed for 15 minutes, her brother went to let her out but she wasn't there, and the tanning bed was still locked. It baffled investigators who had no leads whatsoever so they placed pictures of her all over town." Daniel says.

A picture appears and I widen my eyes. I look at Y/n and back at my screen.

"So why was the tanning bed linked to time travel? Y/n wasn't the first person this had happened to. Lenny Davis also vanished in one similar to the one Y/n shoved in. As a result, he was spotted in pictures that were taken before he was even born." Daniel says.

"To this day, no one knows where Y/n is and although Y/n's parents have passed away, her siblings have never stopped searching for her." He says.

I stare at my phone as the video replays and gulp.

There's no way this is real. There's no way in hell that that's the same Y/n. They look exactly the same but there's no way.

But that would explain why she's so weird. She doesn't know what a cell phone is, she just found out what a flat screen TV is, and she doesn't even know who Beyonce is. That's the real kicker.

Tucker comes downstairs and I get up.

"I think Y/n's a time traveler." I whisper.

"What?!" Tucker asks.

"I just seen this video about this girl disappearing 50 years ago and she looks just like Y/n, they even have the same name." I whisper.

I show my phone to him and he widens his eyes.

"I need to tell you something." Tucker says.

"What?" I ask.

"That's exactly what's he is, she's a time traveler. That's why I didn't want her walking around outside. Who knows how many other people will recognize her?" Tucker says.

"Wait, how did you know?" I ask.

"The police investigated that tanning bed to try and figure out what happened. They realized it was no use and auctioned it off. My professor is super obsessed with time travel, so he convinced MRU to buy it run tests on it. Me and Max were in the same room as it when she came out of it." He says.

"And you hid this from me? From mom? You're hoarding a time traveler in her house." I say.

"It's for her safety. Who knows what could happen if people find out where she is?" He says.

"She'd be reunited with her family or at least the people she has left." I say.

"Yeah, but think about people exploiting her. Let the government find out about this and she'll disappear again." He says.

"So what are we gonna do?" I ask.

"We?" He asks.

"You're not gonna shut me out of this. Y/n's my friend." I say.

"Well, maybe we should tell her because she's been complaining about how hard it is to keep a secret." He says.

I sigh and nod.

"Y/n." Tucker says.

"Yeah?" Y/n asks getting up.

"Tate knows." Tucker says.

"Tate knows what?" Y/n asks.

"Everything." Tucker says.

"I'm sorry! I was trying, I really was. I thought I was doing a good job at hiding it." Y/n says.

"You literally 'oohed' and 'ahhed' at a flatscreen TV." I say.

"Fuck, I'm sorry!" Y/n says.

"It's fine, it just one less person you have to lie to." Tucker says.

"Okay." Y/n says.

"All that means is that more and more people know about this entire thing. You have to lie even lower." Tucker says.

"Got it, I'll make you proud." Y/n says.

I furrow eyebrows and she walks back over to the couch.

"It's almost as if she... looks up to you." I say.

I laugh and Tucker rolls his eyes.
