Charlotte opens the door to our dorm.
"Your aunt is here." She says with confusion.
I spin around, compelled by the sentence Charlotte has just spoken to me.
I quickly shut the box.
"What?! How?!" I say, jumping from the top bunk.
"She's here to bring you home." She says sadly.
"But this place is my home." I say.
"Better get packing. She looked mad." Charlotte says, helping me put a few of my belongings into a chest.
I put my box and peg in last.
With one last hug given to Charlotte, I drag the chest down the stairs.
There, in all her glory, is Ms Diddle.
"Where the hell have you been you brat." She says coldly.
"Here... at this school..."
"Without permission!?" She yells.
"I'm sorry, I never got the chance to write and I-"
"I don't want to hear it! You need to come home. Now." She says.
"I'm riding mystic back." I say. No way am I getting in a car with that woman.
"Fine. But you better be back in time to make dinner." She says storming off, walking in the direction of - not the main entrance.
I walk to the stables and get my tack for mystic.
I mount her and lead her to the snitch arena.
She takes off. I wonder if her wings will disappear as soon as we get home.
We fly for a long time. We enter an area where there are thick pines. A cool breeze shakes the huge trees. I shiver.
A brown owl flies in front of Mystic.
She somehow bucks at the air and I slide off her back.
I fall and fall and fall. I didn't realize how high up I was.
Then I realize I'm not falling at all. I'm floating above the ground.
A tall man with ice blue skin circles around me.
"Frost." I mumble with hatred, remembering the night my deliah died. I get awfully scared. I struggle to get to the ground.
His familiar blood red eyes dart around.
"You're c-coming w-with m-me." He coughs.
He snaps his fingers and we teleport to a black room.
From the earthy smell I can tell its underground.
"W-we have t-to m-make you look d-different."
I gulp. He grabs my hands and ties them to a wall before I can fight back.
He takes a knife and chops of a chunk of my hair.
"o-w!" I say struggling.
If you've never gotten your hair chopped off with a dull knife, it hurts.
I feel ice starting to form from my fingertips.
The cut is uneven and messy;
It brushes over one eye."Hey! What the heck is going on!"
"Winter. There is an evil in this world."
"I mean duh." I mumble, glaring at him.
"And it's not me."
I look at him confused.
"It's a shapeshifter."
The ice breaks the rope and I break free. Without thinking I tackle Frost to the ground.
I use my magic to form a giant ice dagger. It's completely black.
I feel the snowy wings on my back, they must have reappeared.
Before I can steak Frost with the dagger, he takes off a ring on his finger and throws it in the air. A shield of ice and a red substance swirls from the ring appears in his hand. He blocks my dagger.
The dagger then melts.
"How?" We both say.
"I'm impressed, winter." Frost says.
"Can you do it again?"
