"Well, it's not really your choice to make, is it?" Le Yao asked with conviviality.
Feng Lian huffed a breath, distraught etched into his face. They both agreed that her idea was absurd and implausible. The more they stopped to think about it, the crazier the pair made her out to be.
I mean, who just randomly suggests a sleepover for two unknowing individuals? Besides that, both Feng Lian and Shen Luyu had barely gotten to know each other. It had been a measly two hours since they first introduced themselves, and that just made Le Yao's suggestion all the more creepy. And it was the fact that she didn't suggest but rather enforce this.
If Shen Luyu had a choice, he'd have preferred not to even come to this world in the first place, and although he was starting to get accustomed to it, he'd much rather flip burger patties than be in such a disconcerting world.
Oh, fuck it.
Shen Luyu couldn't take it anymore. He started walking in the direction of the door. He knew that it didn't matter what high-level escape plan he brewed. The conclusion would always end up with him getting caught. And let's say he did have a plan and could execute it at an inhuman level. It wasn't like he knew the interworkings of this world, let alone this building, so who's to say what would happen? So, instead, he took the manageable approach.
He figured he could just walk back to his guest house and pretend like this dinner had never happened. Maybe he'd trick himself into forgetting all his memories, and then he wouldn't have to think he was going crazy.
"Stop right there!" Feng Lian barked. "Don't just walk away! Who do you think you are, huh?" He grabbed Shen Luyu's arm in a tight grip and forced him backward to face the other.
"Let me go! I'm not staying here. I don't want to, and I sure as hell won't be a lap dog for your Sect, go and figure that shit out yourself!" Shen Luyu spat back.
This remark pushed Feng Lian over the edge. Shen Luyu had just disrespected his Uncle, and Feng Lian would not just sit prettily and take that disrespect. "I dare you to say that again." Feng Lian seethed
Feng Lian's grip around Shen Luyu's arm hardened, and he knew that if Feng Lian held his arm any tighter, it would snap, so he looked him dead in the eyes and said, "Let go." His voice was stern and calm. It seemed to have no effect on the other.
"Say it!" Feng Lian said, his arm still tightly gripping the other.
Shen Luyu wasn't stupid. Just one look at Feng Lian's physique and you could tell he worked out a lot. He was also tall, and having to look up to meet his eyes only made Shen Luyu feel inferior. So, starting a fight with him had a foreseeable outlook. Even so, he wasn't going to let himself get blatantly disrespected.
Shen Luyu was going to ask him to let go one more time. If he still hadn't removed his hand, then he would uppercut the other.
"I said, let go of me! You have no right to keep me here. Your Sect needs me to be their lap dog, their little pawn, because they wanna maintain some face. Well, news flash! One look at a trashy personality like yours and they'd see that all of this," he pointed to everything around him. "Is just a facade! Now let go of me!" This time, he raised his voice. This was the clearest way he could put it for Feng Lian, and if he still couldn't get it, then Shen Luyu would have to beat some sense into him so he'd understand.
"No. It'sdefinitely a no now. What a hypocritical pawn you are."
Both Shen Luyu and Feng Lian didn't have plans to submit to the other, so it was no surprise when Shen Luyu's fist slammed into Feng Lian's jaw. The punch was so hard that he could hear a crack. He hadn't put much behind the punch, and it came out harder than he'd intended it to be, so he felt very sorry.
