BENJAMIN AND EVELYN WATERFORD were the whole pride of their father. Born to Commander Waterfords first wife - before Gilead was established - who died when little Evelyn was only three years old.
Evelyn had always been a talented musician. Mastering the violin and piano at the age of 10. Dreaming of becoming a professional musician. While her brother on the other hand joined the army the moment he turned 17. Wanting nothing more than to serve and protect his country.
Even though their stepmother - Serena Joy -tried her best to be a good mother to them, both of them hated her with passion. Ever since the woman had accidentally hit Evelyn for not listening to her, Benjamin made it his mission to protect her. His friend stepped in as well when he joined the army.
After Gilead was established Benjamin started to resent his father. Despite the power he gained trough his father himself, he saw what it meant for his sister. So naturally he knew what he had to do in order to ensure his sisters safety. Luckily he wasn't alone.

a/n: i just finished reading both the handmaids tale and the testaments. so the colors each group's wearing will be based on the books and not the show. commanders = black, wives = blue, handmaids = red, marthas = green, echo wives = blue-green stripes, aunts = brown, daughters = pink (spring/summer)/plum (fall/winter)/white (special days).
