It was the last day of school before summer started and the Wildcats couldn't contain their excitement for their break from school.
"You must remember, young thespians, learning is never seasonal. So, do allow the shimmering lights of summer to refresh and illuminate your fertile young minds." Miss Darbus' voice rose an octave, causing the teens to jump, waking some who had fallen asleep and snapping some from their daydreams.
"What's she talking about?" Chad whispered, looking over at the girl who was sitting beside him, causing her to shrug.
"I honestly couldn't tell you. I zoned out after the first five minutes." Alyvia admitted, causing them both to lightly chuckle.
"Classic Liv." Chad teased, smiling at the girl.
"The future greets you with its magic mirror..."
"Dude, Miss Darbus has snapped her cap." Troy spoke, leaning back towards Chad, gaining the duo's attention.
"Dude, you're actually listening?" Chad chuckled, causing Troy to quickly sit back up, making Alyvia chuckle at her brother.
Jason slowly raised his hand in the back of the classroom gaining the teacher's attention, "Yes, Jason."
The mention of the boy's name caused everyone to quickly turn their attention towards the back of the room.
"So, what was your favorite summer memory, Miss Darbus?" Jason asked, causing everyone to groan, turning their attention back to the front of the room.
"Summers have passed fleetingly since I was your age..."
Alyvia drowned the teacher out as she focused her attention on the giant clock that rested on the wall above her head as she listened to the sound of the hand clicking.
"Summer." Chad spoke with a giant smile, placing a hand on Troy's shoulder.
"Summer." Alyvia grinned, smiling at her brother.
"Summer." Chad and Alyvia smiled at each other.
"Summer. Kelsi joined from in front of Liv.
"Summer." Gabriella dreamily said from the back of the room, looking at Troy.
"Summer." Taylor and Martha joined as the group continued chanting the word.
"Summer. Summer. Summer."
As the school bell rang everyone through their papers into the air, cheering for summer vacation.
