college move in day

It was finally college move day for the Bolton girl, and there were different emotions coursing through her.

Alyvia stood on the sidewalk as she looked up at the place she would call home for the next four years, watching as families and other students walked past, causing the girl to smile lightly.

"Liv, I can't believe you're at university." Mrs. Bolton spoke, snapping Alyvia back to reality as she looked over at her mom, who eagerly wrapped her arms around the girl. "My babies aren't so little anymore."

"Mom, we're eighteen now." Troy said, wrapping his arm around their mom's shoulder as she let go of his sister.

"What your mom means is we're going to miss you like crazy." Mr. Bolton said, setting the girl's luggage in front of her with a smile. "Both of you."

"And I will miss you guys too." Alyvia chuckled lightly, glancing at her parents with a small smile. "But I'm not even 30 minutes away."

"But I like it better when you're not even one minute away." Mrs. Bolton sighed, causing the girl to give her a look. "I know, I know. I'm still in Mama Bear mode."

"Be safe, sweetie." Mr. Bolton said, wrapping the girl in a hug.

Her mom quickly clung on as soon as her dad let go, hugging the girl tightly. "Bye."

"Bye, mom." Alyvia muttered, sending the woman a smile before she turned her attention to her brother.

"November?" was all the boy said, causing a grin to form on the girl's face.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Alyvia nodded, pulling her brother into a hug. "Bye, Troy."

"Be good, Livi." Troy said, pulling away from the girl and ruffling her head, causing her to let out a light chuckle.

Alyvia waved at her family as she watched them disappear into the car before she turned back around.

The girl let out a deep breath before she made her way to the cheek on the table.

"Checking in?" The girl standing at the table near the dorms asked, causing Liv to nod.

"Yeah, Alyvia Bolton."

"Let me see." The girl spoke, glancing through her clipboard. "There you are! Alyvia, you're on my floor! I'm Aqua; you're RA. It looks like your roommate has been excitedly waiting for your arrival."

"They have?" Alyvia asked, confused, causing Aqua to nod. "I didn't even look to see who my roommate was."

"Well, it seems like she knows you very well. She even demanded you be her roommate." Aqua explained, causing Liv to nod slowly. "Anyway, we're on the top floor if you want to head on up. And here are your keys."

"Thank you."

Alyvia slowly made her way through the dorm building, taking in all the small things before she made her way over to the elevator, pressing the button for the highest level, floor 6.
