[ Talla's POV | J-Highschool ]
'Here we go again, another day here, in this chaotic time where things.. are different!' I thought to myself, trying to stay positive as possible despite hearing being too positive about things aren't very good mentally.
While I walk through the near entrance of the school, the white off color pillars and walls greeted me, while Zoe was in a different friend group.
They seemed to be getting along well, talking between a particular student; Daniel Park.
"Wow, he's so handsome! I can't believe he transferred just 3 days ago!!" One of the girls shrieked, jumping in the air with her flip phone.
"I agree, although you shouldn't really put him on a pedestal like that.." One of the girls in the group warned.
"Oh.. okay.." The girl responded, still much happy. Zoe coughs, letting some of the awkward moment get out.
__
For a few seconds, Zoe noticed my presence.
She waves back excitedly while I return the favor, waving back as well.I walk back, listening while I started to enter the building now; The group tilts their head in confusion, asking some slightly offensive questions.
"Do you know her? Isn't she like.. super clingy and her name too.. is odd."
"I'm actually the one who's been clingy to her lately.. she.." Zoe pauses, stopping herself from saying anything more, before she continues again. "Her name isn't really an issue, so don't be asking those questions anymore."
For some reason, her words relieved me, yet I couldn't explain why I was so comfortable despite me only saying nothing today.
It's selfish.. that I was glad that someone else cared enough about me.. even if I had experienced everything..
I couldn't see their faces but I have a feeling the group nodded, feeling slightly guilty. I could still hear them all behind the glass door.
I keep walking to my class upstairs with the older students minding their own business, overworked teachers barely existing with the added problem of school holding thousands of students, and some troublesome students doing their own thing in the bathrooms.
I arrived to the fashion classroom very early, earlier than usual because there isn't any drama was happening between me and Vin Jin during this hour.
"Geez.. hope Duke is doing better now.. since I found out not too recently, the transfer student is actually a good kid to his own peers." I mutter, sitting down on my desk constantly concerned about Duke who still won't open up to me.. yet.
During this time, Zack and his goons again, Daniel, Mira, Zoe, you get the point, they are all there in the classroom except Vasco and Jace.
__
Zack laughed at his phone, with the three goons watching, despite the phone being broken into pieces during the night Mira was supposed to hangout with us.
Daniel was confused, while he quickly turned back to his desk, seeming to sweat, which was.. suspicious.
Zack's phone was probably a spare one, since he's kinda rich.
"Haha!! Hey, this is that guy I beat up, you know, it's viral on facebook!" Zack moved his phone closer to the goons, as they laugh. His finger swiped left to the photo, showing.. the convenience store guy.. with his pants.. down..?! I feel a sudden urge to punch Zack, and probably the other goons.
What the actual fuck, that is too far, isn't this blackmail or something?!!
The goons laughed even more, as I watched in disgust and disbelief. Every time I recairnate, I always somehow regret being somewhat immortal. To witness such things as this.
