CHAPTER 5

ARANYA'S POV

My mind was still wondering about her. I felt like thousands of knives piercing my heart when I remembered how I behaved to her. In my whole life, I had always been an obedient, nice and sweet girl. Just as they wanted. I had never harmed anyone.. ever. Except for once and that one person was my bestest friend... Karcy.

It hurts every time I remember the old days. How close we used to be, How we always used to hang out together, used to eat together... How bubbly and sweet she used to be... how clingy she could turn sometimes.. and how she could make anyone do anything for her by her sweet buttering.

How I miss the old Karcy... my best friend. But, It's all gone. All gone now... That childish, little girl full of innocent mischievous ideas is gone.

I took a deep breath and rushed downstairs. Grabbing the breakfast I dashed at the highest speed as I was late for the school. And reached just at time panting hysterically. I was never an athletic kid. Small runs would make my breaths up and down. I was calming my breath when someone offered me a waterbottle.

TARA, MY BESTFRIEND. She was the one who stood beside me when everyone left.. I sipped water and passed her the bottle back while she just smiled.

'You look much better, Today.' She said.

'Yup, I am... It's like a heavy weight is off my shoulder..' I said remembering all that happened yesterday. Whatever may have happened.. I am happy that the truth was out in front of my eyes and the blindfold was finally off my eyes.

'So' she said,' Would you mind telling what had gone into you, yesterday..'

I sighed and told her all standing near the lockers as we took out our books.

'I told you... I told you he was a jerk.. but you never listened to me.' Said Tara with an angry pout.

'Well, I got my lesson now.' I chuckled sadly. She patted my back slowly.

'It's just.... I did wrong to her. I accused Karcy wrongly.. I hurted her.... Again' I said whispering the last part to myself.

'It's not your fault.. Anyone would do the same at your place.... Don't blame yourself.' 

Anyone, but not her Bestfriend.

I was lost in thoughts when I saw the crowd hustling. Sticking up to the walls, inhabiting the corners, parting up the way... FOR THEM.

I looked up and found Karcy entering the school holding Mayur's hand, giggling and laughing. It had been years since I last heard her laughs like this and maybe so does the school.

They were familiar with her evil grin, smirks and small smiles but this laugh..  never. For a moment I felt like having the old Karcy back...

'I don't think you should be worried about her.' Said Tara making an annoyed face, 'She seems all fine.' She never liked Karcy.... Well no one in the school liked her. But, that wasn't right. If she had met the old Karcy.. If they knew the old Karcy.. Things wouldn't be this way. She would have been the most loved girl in the school. If just it was...

I need to do something... I will bring the old Karcy back.

OTHERS POV

LUNCH BREAK...

Karcy  and Kritrim were standing in the hallway, near the lockers waiting for Nimi. Kritrim glanced at her watch and sighed.

'How long is she gonna take... I am hungry' He complaint. 

'We gotta wait for her.. you know what she will do if we started lunch before her.... Just do anything but never start lunch and dinner without her. Family always have lunch and dinner together' Said Karcy imitating Nimi's voice in the last line.
