Ara had been trying to talk to Karcy for the whole day but Mayur stood up as a wall between the two. He wouldn't let the two breathe the same air. Both of them were in the same standard but  in different divisions. They had different teachers for the subjects, just one in common of Professor Sajel who was also coordinator for ninth and tenth and taught English to all the students of tenth.  During the whole class Mayur didn't let Karcy go away from his sight for a single second. As the class came to end he dragged Karcy away with speed of light.

'Yeah, chill. I am not running away that you are literally following me everywhere like a shadow.'

'I just want to accompany you.'

'In the girls Washroom.' Karcy raised her eyebrows.

'Can't I.' Mayur said making an innocent face.

Karcy hit his shoulder and went in. She walked to the mirror, adjusted her dress and spoke, 'Just come out Ara.' One of the washroom doors opened and Ara walked up to Karcy hanging her head low.

'What do you want now? I know you are following me from the morning. So say it up quickly cause i don't have much time to waste.'

'I just wanted to talk to you.' Ara murmured.

'Okay, I am listening.' Karcy turned facing her.

'I wanted to apologize Karcy. What I did was totally wrong with you? I am really really sorry for my rude behavior... I was such a jer...'

'It's fine.' Karcy snapped emotionlessly.

'No, it's not. I was wrong to accuse you. I don't know how to make up for my mess..'

'It's just fine.... You don't need to do anything. Just forget about everything like it never happened....'

Ara was shocked to hear those words. Karcy forgave her so easily. Could it be she still had a space for her in her heart? Did she still consider Ara as her friend. If that's the case, then there was still hope.. hope to bring the old Karcy back.

Ara looked at Karcy elated. She had never felt this happy before. She took a deep breathe and finally she said, 'Everything's normal then.. I mean between us.'

'Everything was always normal between us.'

'You aren't getting it. I want to make everything like past time between us. I know it's very late but I want to clear all the misunderstandings and be friends once again... I..'

'That's not possible Ara... We can't be friends again... So let the things be how they are. It's the best for both of us.' Saying that Karcy turned to leave.

'No Karcy wait... Please that time, I didn't mean to do that. Wait Karshika Please, Listen to me.'

Karcy froze on her place. Eight years, after whole eight years she had called her that.

Karcy turned to Ara who stood inches away from her. Tears gathered up in her eyes.

'I am sorry Karshika, I was a kid at that time. Barely seven. I didn't knew right and wrong. I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have...' She cried.

'But you did... You still left me there. Alone in the dark. Six months... It took me six months to wake up to the light.' Karcy let out a bitter chuckle, 'A kid you say, Then what was I. If you were seven, I was six. A six year old little girl... still.' Karcy paused as the harshest memories of her life flashed.

'I am sorry Karcy... I didn't knew you would be hurt this much... I had no idea. It was supposed to be a prank. Please don't hate me Karcy... Please Karshika don't hate me.' Ara pleaded.
