Chapter 7

Author's pov

A figure was sitting alone in her room, studying. Physically she was here but her mind, her mind was thinking about Jungkook. She was feeling alone there because her brother was busy at the cafe and Jimin was at practice, so she decided not to go to the cafe today as she was sure that Jungkook would not come today as well. What can she expect when he didn't come for more than a week.

She looked at the calendar on her wall and sighed. This date was never special to her before because she did not have genuine friends ever. All of them were sweet to her in the beginning but then with time, they would get tired of her and then leave her. But for the first time she had a genuine friend in her life, Jimin but he isn't with her today.

She got a message which took her attention from her textbook. She looked at the id to see it was Jimin.

Picking up her phone, she read his message only to find out that he asked her to come to the cafe since he was coming there after sometime. She frowned and replied, “What about your practice?”
She nodded to herself when she got another text from him stating that he just wanted to spend time with her today, so he took a half day leave. She smiled already knowing why he took the day off.

It was her birthday today.

Jimin wished her in the morning and promised to spend some time with her after his practice. But she didn't expect him to take a half day leave.
She finished the topic she was currently revising, and then happily left for the cafe.

Minho's pov

I put the batter into the container and levelled it, then finally put it in the oven to let it bake. I am in the kitchen of my cafe and am on the mission of making a cake for my sister. Today's her birthday and me and Jimin had a plan for the evening to surprise her.

But before that I was doing my every year ritual of baking a cake for her, myself. She always loved the cakes that I bake. When she first tasted the cake made by me, she asked me to bake one for her on her birthday every year, and I didn't let her down.

After setting the temperature and timing, I took the knife and started cutting the fruits that will be used to decorate the cake. After cutting them I kept them in the refrigerator.
There was still time for the cake to be baked perfectly, so I went out of the kitchen to see if everything was okay. Upon coming out, I realised that there aren't many customers which is perfect because I don't want any rush today.

Today is supposed to be spent with y/n and I don't want to ruin the plans just because of customers.

After 5 minutes, my eyes landed upon Eunji. She is sitting with Jimin, and all I can wonder is why? I narrowed my eyes on them getting jealous of him.

Yeah, I developed this tiny miny crush on her after that day when I saw her with Jungkook. The next day, I saw her again and kept on noticing her only, everytime she came. I never observed my customers before to know that she was a regular here. But now my eyes are on her only.

I made my way towards them and sat myself on the empty seat.

“Hey” I said. They looked at me and then at each other, widening their eyes.

What is on their mind?

“Hii” Eunji said with a small smile, making me smile too.

“Oh…Minho? Hi” Jimin replied, “I thought you were busy in the kitchen baking the cake for Y/n?”

“Yeah, I just kept it to bake, but since it takes time so I decided to come out and then I saw you both. You know each other?” I asked.

“Oh yeah, Jungkook introduced me to him, and now we are friends too,” she replied.

“Yeah, today is our first meeting but we instantly clicked,” Jimin added.

“Ohh” That's what I said. They met today but they looked like they were enjoying each other's company. They might start liking each other, and then I would have no chance against Jimin. I don't want to fight with my friends over anything or anyone!

“Minho? Is everything for the evening ready? It's y/n’s birthday so wish her from my side also” she asked suddenly.

“Yeah sure, and everything is ready. She will be really happy” I smiled thinking of y/n.

But wait! How did she know about her birthday? I didn't tell her. Did Jimin tell her? But they met today only, and he wouldn't share it with someone on the first meet.

“How-” I was about to ask her but I heard one of the staff call me. I made a mental note to ask about it later and excused myself.

Jimin's pov

“Sh!t we were about to get exposed” I said in relief.

“How” Eunji asked, confused as if she didn't just made Minho suspicious.

“Girl! You just asked him about his sister's birthday plans. He didn't tell you and he knows me that much to know that I wouldn't share my details with someone on the first meeting” I glared at her.

“Chill yrr, we got saved, didn't we? So let it go and ask her when she is coming. This boy is blowing up my phone non-stop!”

“Yeah, let me ask her”

I texted her and asked where she was. She told me she was just a few seconds away. So I got up from the seat and gave Eunji a thumbs up before moving to the designated table.

“Okay, I am waiting” I replied and put down the phone. I prepared myself with everything.

Y/n’s pov

Entering the cafe, I let my eyes wander around the cafe in search of Jimin and Oppa. I didn't see Oppa, maybe he is busy. But I did see Jimin waving at me. I smiled and waved back at him.

“You didn't have to take the half day leave” I signalled him while sitting in front of him.

“I did so much and even begged the company to give me leave, just for you to say this?” He whined.

I chuckled, “okay okay, thank you so much for taking the leave just for my birthday”

“But honestly, No one other than my family ever celebrated my birthday, so I just feel guilty”

I really felt guilty. Although I myself wanted him to celebrate it with me but I never had friends all my life. Having him as a friend, I didn't want to trouble him.

“Don't be. You are my friend” He said, making my heart swell with happiness.

We talked a little then suddenly the lights went off. I frowned because the lights never got cut off here. I got up to see what happened, but Jimin caught my wrist. I looked at him and he signalled me to sit down.

Is this, his doing?

Minho's pov

I was informed that lights got cut. But everything was okay in the kitchen, then what happened in the sitting area.

I went out to check and then suddenly there was light on a spot. And in that spot was Jungkook sitting on the chair with a mic in front of him. Is he giving a special performance or what?

Wait! I do remember that he told me, he was soon going to propose to the girl he is crushing on and wanted to use my cafe for that since she comes here often. I smiled. Great! Let's see what he has on his plan.

Then another light lit up and my smile faded recognising the figure under the light. Y/n.

She was as shocked as I was.

So all this time, he was crushing on my sister?
