Jack Napier knew it was a dark and Gloomy day in Gotham. Jack was sitting there in his office. He was busy with work and didn't feel like being bothered. His room was dark and ominous. Exactly how the green hair man liked it. He heard the door open. Anger rushing through his body as he immediately turned back to stare at the light creeping in from the door
"What could you possibly want." The man said in a cold tone.
From the door stood Selina Kyle. "Heya Jack!" She purred. "Selina here. I was wondering..."
Jack glanced at the beautiful woman who entered his office. He was about to speak, but the words died on his tongue as he couldn't help but stare at her. She was gorgeous, as always, and Jack loved the way she held herself. She was confident and independent. Which was exactly what he wanted in a woman.
"What?" the man said, his eyes darting up and down her body.
A smile graced Selina's features. She made her way towards Joker's desk, her kitten pumps clacked against the linoleum floors with each step. With mischief in her eyes, she said "Would you go to prom with me?"
The Joker froze as he heard the question. He was still staring at her, but his expression changed to one of surprise. Prom? Of all the things Selina could have asked him, that was not one of the options he had predicted.
A small chuckle escaped his lips, as he replied, "Why, why on earth would you want me to go to prom with you?"
Selina pretended to think for a moment, placing her finger on her chin exaggeratedly. "Bruce hasn't asked me, so I figured I'd ask you"
A sly smirk appeared on the jokers face. "So I was your last choice" He started to laugh, as if to emphasize the humor in that fact. This made sense in a way. Bruce Wayne, the young billionaire. He was considered the perfect specimen. So of course, Selina would ask him first. It made little sense to ask the insane clown man.
Selina's eyes softened ever-so-slightly. Anyone could have easily missed it, but Joker wasn't just anyone. But just as quickly as it came, that softness was replaced with a familiar mischief. "No, Bruce is too aloof. So you're technically my first option"
Joker tilted his head to the side a bit as he considered this new bit of information. So this wasn't really about Bruce at all. She wanted the Joker, specifically. Which meant she had a special interest in him. This was exciting, to say the least. Joker bit back a laugh.
"Alright then. I'll go to prom with you."

It had been an hour or so after Joker and Selina's last conversation, and it left a noticeable impact on the Jokers mood. His typical hunched posture replaced by a little extra pep in his step. But of course, when it comes to Jack Napier nothing good could ever last. As he made his way through the halls of Gotham High he was graced with the unfortunate pleasure of bumping into Bruce Wayne.
There's palpable tension in the air.
Bruce was walking down the hallway, minding his own business when he came face to face with the Joker. immediately he could feel the tension between them in the air. Though Joker appeared to be keeping his cool, Bruce knew better. The Clown wasn't one to be trusted. Even as he looked up at him, he noticed the man was trying his best to control his smile. As if he was planning something.
"Jack." Bruce regarded him, annoyed.
Joker didn't need to hear anything more than the way Bruce addressed him to know that this was not going to be an easy encounter. The mere mention of his real name was enough to set Bruce off, and it got on the clowns nerves.
