"Why are you so surprised?'' I asked with smile.
"Why wouldn't I be? I mean my hand should be burning but nothing is happening. " Derek said with confusion.
"I care about you that's the reason you're hand is not burning ." I explained.
"What do you mean when you said Magic never lies?" Derek asked removing his hand from my arm and then my flames disappeared.
"I'll explain you later. " But how will I explain and how is he even still here with me. I mean it's not everyday you meet a mage who threats to burn you alive. I wish I could still be with my guild. I miss them so much.
"Grace I can smell your anxiety. " Said derek gently touching my cheek.
"What? You can smell my anxiety?" I whispered.
"Yes. I'll explain you later." Derek replied.
"What are you?" I asked derek and removed his hand from my cheek.
"Do you really want to know?" Derek said with sad smile. Seeing him like this just breaks my heart.
"Yes. Only if you're comfortable with it. " I said and our fingers interwined.
"I'll show you when we are out of here. I don't want people to see my true self." Derek said and melissa entered.
"Derek visiting hours are over. You need to leave and grace needs some rest." Mellisa said and derek looks like he was going to cry for leaving me.
"Don't go." I whispered and held Derek hand.
"I won't leave you ever." Derek hugged me. And somehow I feel safe with him. It feels like home.
"But derek you ne--" I cut off mellisa.
"Get me out of here. Im fine now." I said looking at derek and then mellisa.
"Sweetie you can't leave. You're not healed yet. Your body is still covered in bruises." Mellisa said with concern.
"I'm a mage. You can't stop me, no one can." I yelled . I know she is worried about me but I don't want to be away from derek. I'm safe with him.
"I need you to calm down. " Mellisa said coming closer to me.
"Derek I fine now. I don't have to stay here." I assured derek and he nodded.
"She is fine to leave. I'm taking her with me." Derek ordered.
"Let me call the doctor. " Said mellisa and called the doc.
"Grace how are you feeling?" Doctor asked politely.
"I'm fine and I need to leave like right now. " I replied.
"Well that's my decision to make. You're still in pain and you ne--" I cut him off.
"I'm fine and no one can stop me from leaving. " I hissed.
"Ok." Docter said with confusion.
What is wrong with me? Why am I so attracted towards derek? I never talk to people so rudely . I'm in another world. I have to remember what I can do on my own. I can't trouble derek but I want to be with derek. What's happening?
"So all the formalities have been done. You can take her home." Said Mellisa.
"Thanks. " I mumbled.
"Anytime kiddo." Melissa smiled.
"So I'm guessing she's staying with derek." Erica said to the group.
"Derek has already decided to her." Said Isaac.
"I won't allow it." Erica hissed.
"Still jealous?" Jackson said making fun of erica.
"Enough kids." Said peter rolling his eyes.
"Derek will they still make fun of me?" I asked awkwardly.
"No. I will not let them." Derek said with smile.
"I care about you. " Said derek and kissed me on forehead
"Me too derek." I whispered.
I know this chapter was short but next will be better.
