Her

Ms. Smith's Pov

I packed my things and went out of the classroom to see Lucy standing with her back on the wall looking at her phone. She looked up to me as she heard the door opens.

"You finished"

"Yeah, let's go"

I went and held her hand and she gave me a smile. We walked to our department office together which was next to each other.

"So, how was your class?", she turned her head to look at me.

"It's fine. you know. Just normal day with students. Yours?"

"Same but more of me scaring them", she said with a small laugh.

"You should stop that, you know. Sometimes let them have some fun", I softly her arm because I knew about her famous nickname, "Professor Scary Davis"

"I will but not now. It is too early to let them have fun"

"Ok. I won't argue with you"

When we passed the cafeteria, we heard a loud 'oh my god' from inside but then followed by laughers. Lucy and I headed inside and it went silent when they see us, but more like when they see Lucy.

"What's going on here"

I was very surprised to see the scene unfolding in front of me. I saw a girl with paint on her whole body. I looked at her carefully as I thought I have seen her before but then I realized.

"Ashley?"

She struggled to open her eyes with the paint struck on her face.

"What happened to you?", I quickly took out wet tissue and cleaned the paint on her face.

Then I could hear some students snickering sounds.

"Silence!", Lucy shouted and the whole cafeteria went silent again.

"Mind to explain, Jessica", I looked at Jessica as I was one hundred percent sure that this is her act.

"Chill, Sis. No harm has done"

"You did this to her?", I pointed at Ashley who is with her head down.

"I was just welcoming her"

"You know what, I am so tired of your childishness. Jessica Smith, go to the principal's office now"

"B..But..."

"No 'but'. Now!"

I saw Jessica glare at Ashley but she went to the principal's office with Hannah behind her.

I turned to Ashley and Lucy just shook her head as she also thought Jessica acted too much this time.

"You go and wash yourself. You can find P.E clothes in the storage beside gym. I will tell the other professors of your afternoon class about the situation. you can come back and attend the class or you can just go home for today"

"Thank you, Ms. Smith"

"No need to say 'thanks' and I am really sorry for this in half of my sister"

"It's really ok, Ms. Smith. I deserved that"

"I am sorry in half of her. Sometimes she is so childish but this is too much. And no one deserve that. Now, go and clean yourself"

She ran out of the cafeteria and I looked at Lucy and she gave me a soft smile and gave a squeeze to my hand. We went out of the cafeteria but Lucy stopped me at the entrance and turned her head back at the cafeteria.

"If I hear or see anyone posting about this scene or if I hear this kind of bullying thing again, just remember that you will never get to see this college again. Understand!"

The students inside said 'yes, professor' and we went to our departments. I went to the principal office first to see if Jessica is ok. I knew this is harsh but she sometimes needed to be reminded that this kind of act was not acceptable. The principal just warned her and punished her by cleaning the paint in the cafeteria.

I asked Hannah to help her out as I knew she couldn't do this alone. As usual, she ignored me when she came out of the office. I told the other professors about Ashley not being able to attend the classes and went to my afternoon classes. When I went to the parking to go back home, I saw Lucy waiting for me in the carpark as I came with her car this morning.

"Hey", she came and took my bag from my hand and held my hand.

"Is everything ok?", she asked me as I fasten the seatbelt with her sitting at the driver's seat.

"Yeah", I just looked out of the window and she stopped asking me questions as she didn't want to put pressure on me to let out my feelings.

The car reached to stop as the traffic lights turned red. I sighed and turned my head to her, "I am just thinking about Jessica! I know she acts too childish sometimes but she became worse these days. I just hope she gets some sense and becomes more mature"

She turned her head to me, held my hand and intertwined our fingers. "Laura, what you did today was great. It might be the first step for her to rethink about her actions. And maybe in the future she might meet someone who would lead her to the right way"

"Like me for you?", I gave her a smirk.

She smiled and took my hand to her lips to give a kiss, "Yeah, like you for me"

I rested my head on her right shoulder and she didn't let go of our intertwined hands until we reached to my house. I gave her a peck on her lips but she grabbed my face again to give me a longer kiss. She pulled away with a smile on her face and I got out of the car. When I went inside the house, I could see a note stuck on the fridge with a magnet;

"I went out to a party with Hannah. Don't worry! I won't be late"

As Lucy said, she might be more mature later as this was the first time, she said she won't be late. I made myself dinner and then headed to my room. I could hear a car parked in front of the house at 10 and Jessica came out of the car. I guess she kept her promise.
