Maggie's the first one to come out, tears streaming down her face, holding the baby

Maggie's the first one to come out, tears streaming down her face, holding the baby. Then Carl exits, blank expression, followed by me, mirroring Carl's stoicism. Now more than ever, I gotta

keep my cool and not let emotions mess me up.

-Where... where is she?- Rick asks, trying to head back to the prison. I grab his forearm -Rick,

don't!- he backs away, tears welling up as he looks at Carl.

-Oh no... NO! NO!- he keeps on, while Maggie rushes to Glenn. I scan around, eyes locking onto Daryl -Carol and T-Dog?- I ask, and he just shakes his head slightly. And that's when it hits me, a weight on my heart. I don't even realize I'm crying until Daryl pulls me into a hug. I wanna pull away, dry these tears, take charge of the situation, comfort Rick. But I can't. I can't step back,

can't stop crying.

Daryl's POV:
They've just come out, and from their faces, and Lori's absence, we all know. When Avery starts looking around, I know who she's searching for. With those lost eyes, she meets mine. The moment she hears about Carol and T-Dog, she freezes. Without a second thought, I move closer

and wrap my arms around her, letting her cry silently.

Avery's POV:

Rick's completely lost; I manage to pull myself together after a few minutes -Let me see the baby- my dad asks immediately -We need to feed her- Daryl chimes in, still by my side. I

appreciate what he did, though it confuses me a bit.

-Do we have anything a baby can eat?- he asks -The good news is she seems healthy- my dad says -But she needs formula, and fast, or she won't make it- Maggie confesses -No. Absolutely not. Not her- Daryl declares firmly, and I back him up -We're not losing anyone else. So here's the plan: you and Mag go get what's needed, while me and the others check all the fences and try to secure this place again- I explain decisively. I need to stay busy, and the best way to do

that, since Rick seems out of it, is to take charge.

-I'll go with them- Glenn says, and I nod, leading them to the cars -There's a Piggly Wiggly on 85- Glenn suggests -No, the baby aisle's been cleared out- I recall. After two days in the prison, I decided I wanted to do something for Lori and the baby, so I started checking stores -Lori asked

me to keep an eye out. Didn't have much luck-

-Is there any place that hasn't been completely looted?- Daryl asks and I nod -We saw signs for a mall just north from here-

-Yeah, but there's too much debris on the road- I say, thinking it through -So the car won't make it through there- I vocalize my thoughts -Okay, then, Mag, you go with Daryl. You're the only one who knows what to get- I turn to Glenn and give him a slight smile -With Rick out, I need you here with me- he nods, returning the smile, and heads to Hershel.
