Chapter Two — Too Many "I'm Sorry's"
Y/N's POV:

WHEN HAILEE AND ANDREW returned from prison, I took things a lot better than my best friend Sylvia did. Let's just say when we pulled up to her apartment, Andrew was outside getting his clothes thrown out the window, directly landing on top of him. I grimaced at the sight as Hailee disappeared to his side, picking up his belongings while I set out to talk to the angry brunette inside.

I pushed open the bedroom door and spotted Sylvia trying to grab his action figure collections. "Sylvie." I mutter sympathetically, catching my best friend's attention. She dropped everything and collapsed into my arms the second I wrapped them around her. "It'll be okay." I cooed gently and dragged her over to her bed. I heard the floorboards creak — Hailee and Andrew stood in the doorframe with sheepish smiles on their faces. I nodded softly and pulled away from Sylvia where she then made eye contact with Andrew.

"I'm sorry, love." He said gently, genuine sincere swirling in his eyes. Sylvia said nothing, we all knew she was still pissed but she left my lap nonetheless to wrap her arms tightly around Andrew's neck. Hailee and I shared a look before exiting the room to give them some privacy. Now it's time you know what had happened.

4 years ago on December 27th, 2019 — I was cuddled away in my bed as I awaited for Hailee to get back home from a long day of work. I only woke to an obnoxious phone call from Sylvia when she said that Andrew was being arrested and ran from their apartment to get here. When I got myself dressed, I quickly rushed downstairs to see Andrew and Hailee shutting the door with ragged breaths leaving their lips.

"Baby." Hailee froze when she looked at me. "Go back to bed, everything's alright." She softly said and normally it would've worked, but tonight, it didn't.

"Why is Andrew being arrested? What is happening?" I immediately questioned — their eyes went wide in surprise and shock but none of us could dwell on anything when the cops suddenly arrived outside — bursting through the door, two of them tackled Andrew and cuffed his hands behind his back. Hailee didn't resist but when I tried running to her, one of the male cops grabbed ahold of me. "Don't you fucking touch her!" Hailee yelled as she was being dragged away herself. I had tears streaming down my face. Hailee looked me in the eyes the entire she was being pulled outside — me following close behind. "I'll be back, darling. I don't know when or how, but I'll be home soon. I love you." She whispered one last time and I managed to escape the tightening grip of the officers to run to my girlfriend and kiss her one last time for... god knows how long.

"I love you too." I whispered to myself as I watched the love of my life get towed away I'm the back of a cop car with her best friend — his girlfriend accompanying my side. We both had never cried so much in our lives.

I'll leave you with Hailee to explain why she was arrested but that night... that night is one I'll never forget. It was terrifying and saddening to see the love of my life just stolen from me. I'm very forgiving and you could imagine me already forgiving her but I don't forget. How could I ever forget that?

I sat down on Sylvia's couch, my hands folded together in my lap. Hailee followed my actions but her arm wrapped around my shoulders. I instinctively leaned into her body, my head resting on her collarbone. I could hear her soft breathing and her slow heartbeats. She was calm and at peace when in my presence — she mentioned that in a letter she wrote for me about two years into her sentence. She said she was practically going insane without being able to hear my voice every second, and what was really killing her was never being able to hold me. Now since she's gotten out, she hasn't let go of me since.

I'm not opposed to that though, I love it. I've missed her just as much. Maybe more. Andrew wandered back downstairs after Sylvia's crying died down. "She's asleep." He informed us quietly and made his way into the kitchen. Hailee and I stood at the same time, looking at him. "She says I can stay but on the couch." He made eye contact with us. "I said sorry so many times that she ended up snapping at me for saying it too much."

Hailee nodded in understanding. "Alright. Well..." She walked over to him to pat his back gently. "Call if you need anything." I grabbed ahold of Hailee's hand when we began walking out of Sylvia's apartment.

"Home?" I asked my girlfriend who remained quiet in the drivers seat. "Haiz?"

"I'm sorry too, you know." She broke the silence, blurting out those words. "I never got the chance to say it as often as I'd like to, but god, Y/N I am really fucking sorry for everything that has happened. You didn't deserve any of that." She gave me the most sincere eyes I've ever seen. How could anyone resist that face?

"I already forgave you." I smiled and leaned over to peck her lips, effectively bringing a smile on her own face.
