(Ollie's pov)
It was easy to adjust to my new life here in the factory. The prototype was dead, The other Catnap and his Prototype went back to their universe. We were finally free. I did miss hearing them though. I had only been Catnap's prisoner for a while, but it seemed like him and the other prototype were pretty close. That was another thing I was curious about. My Catnap, whom I'd nicknamed CN for short, knew about Universe hopping.
"That's an interesting power." I commented
"Yeah well, if we could figure out how to use it, we might be able to leave this desolate place." He replied. I saw his point of view. Even though we were free of The Hand's rule, free from 1-0-0-6, the factory still didn't feel like home.
I returned back to the present. "Well, how do we figure out this power?" I asked. He sat back, leaning against one of the bookshelves. "Truth be told Ollie, I don't know." "Hmm, well we're surrounded by a bunch of old, smelly books. Could there be anything worth reading about here?" He shook his head. "I've been through this entire library Ollie. There isn't a single book here that could help us."
I groaned. "Seriously? Who keeps an experimental factory but doesn't have a single book on dimension hopping?!" Catnap shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know dude. I don't know." I sat down in the thick, throne-like chair and face palmed. "This factory has literally nothing to do. Plus I don't even want to be here anymore!" I looked up, only to be hit by a brick and blacked out.
"Dude, wake up." I heard a voice say. I sat up, my head throbbing. Finally my vision cleared, and I saw Catnap leaning over me. "My head", I groaned. "Olivia bricked you." He said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and leaned back. "Of course she did." My older cousin, Olivia, really seemed to despise me. I actually understood why though....
Two months ago, when the other Catnap had captured me, I betrayed the prototype. Or rather he betrayed me. I didn't really remember the conversation. I did remember hearing the prototype say that he didn't care what happened to me or Catnap. That had been the thing that caused the last of my trust for him to snap.
"Hey, Earth to Ollie." Someone hissed. I snapped back into reality and came face to face with Olivia. "You little B-". She slapped me before I could finish talking. I was stunned into silence.
"Shut up or I'll shove your teeth down your throat, Oliver." She snapped.
I complied. "Now, the brick was meant to hit Catnap-", she started before being interrupted by a "Hey!" from Catnap. She grimaced and turned back to me, ignoring the angry toy. "Anyways, I needed to distract him in order to talk to you." She finished. "You could have just asked him to leave." I replied, rolling my eyes. "Now where is the fun in that?" She asked. I put a "-_-" expression on my face in response.
Catnap slinked up behind her, and raised the same brick in his mouth to drop it on her. Without even looking up, Olivia said, "Drop that on me, and see if I don't turn you into stuffing." He slinked back to his little area of the library and placed down the brick. "I didn't know you had eyes in the back of your head." I said, with a smirk. Olivia smirked right back. "I didn't know that noisy phone children were so annoying." You have no room to talk." I snapped.
She threw her hair over her shoulder and grinned. "At least I'm not a baby phone child." I gritted my teeth. "I'm not a baby phone child!" I hissed, jumping off the table to chase her. "Yes you are." She called back, dodging my grasp and running out of the room. I put on a burst of speed. I was going to catch and torture her for saying that to me.
The chase came to an abrupt halt.
"Liv, are you good?" I asked, sneaking up on her. She just stared at something on the ground in front of her. I looked over her shoulder and gasped. There was a giant, huge hole in the ground that was probably around 10 feet wide and 100 feet deep, based on the fact that I couldn't see the bottom of it. The worst thing about it was that the hole hadn't been there four hours ago when Catnap and I had walked through.....
(Olivia's pov)
"Oliver, swear to me that this wasn't here when you came by earlier?" I stated. He just stood there, leaning over my shoulder and staring into the same, dark and creepy abyss as me. "Ollie!" I snapped, trying to get my transfixed cousin back into reality. Even that didn't work. I had half a mind to push him into the hole, maybe see how deep it was. "Oliver, I'll shove you into that hole if you don't answer me now." I snapped. This worked because he quickly shook his head and snapped back into reality. "N-no, cousin th-this wasn't here before.." He replied.
I facepalmed. I'm not sure why, but Ollie's stupidness sometimes got to me. This wasn't stupidness though. He was as scared as I was. He backed away from the weird hole and gave me a strange look. "Olivia? Why did you facepalm?" I scanned the area for a good excuse but got nothing. "No, I don't really know why I facepalmed. Force of habit?" He gave me the "-_-" face. "I deserve that, I guess." I replied, still staring into the creepy hole.
Something about the hole had me transfixed, so transfixed that I didn't notice Ollie was standing there behind me again. I didn't notice that the piece of rubble I was leaning against was starting to slip. I didn't notice when the rubble underneath me gave way. I still stared, willing the darkness to go away. I became aware of a faint scream as I plummeted into the darkness, towards the dark abyss.
