THAT NIGHT

Chapter 12

Marwan and Mason arrived at a small brown house containing two floors next to a small lake surrounded by big trees, two black cars parked near the house.

They were watching the house from a distance between the trees
"This car to the left belongs to Anwar," Mason said
"He did it so it's normal if his car is here"
"What should we do now Marwan? My sister is inside"
"We should be careful we don't know how many men are inside"
"I can't wait"

Mason wanted to go but Marwan grabbed his arm
"You're putting Maya in danger that way"
Mason looked at Marwan for a moment then sat.

"Do you have a plan?"
"Maya said that she's in a room without windows and the house is small, maybe she's on the second floor"
Mason looked at the second-floor
"How do we get there?"
Marwan looked at the cars
"I think there are around four to five men here it's making things for us easier... stay here I'll go check"
"I want to come"
"No wait here I will not be late"
"Okay but be careful"

Marwan began moving carefully between the trees then he approached the house from the front and hid behind a tree, there wasn't anyone guarding outside he picked a stone and threw it into the lake and after a minute or two a man came out to check if anyone was there the man looked around multiple times and then rubbed his chin.

"I'm sure that I heard a stone being thrown into the lake... weird"
Marwan attacked him from behind and put the gun to his back the man froze in his place
"Don't move"
he took out the man's gun from his pocket
"Who are you?"
"Walk in front of me without making any a sound"
The man raised his hands
"Okay but don't shoot please"
"I will not shoot if you don't do something stupid"

They entered between the dense trees
"Sit on your knees and don't put your hands down," he said as he pointed the gun at him,
the man did what Marwan said, "Where's Maya?"
the man didn't say anything
"Do you value your life?" Marwan asked, the man looked down
"They going to hear you if you shoot" Marwan smirked "I know but you're going to die anyway and you don't want that... Anwar is going to jail, and is a matter of time"
the man thought for a while
"She's on the second floor, there's two rooms. She's in the second room and the room has no windows"
"How many men are inside?"
"Anwar and two other men"
"Cool, you helped me. I'll make sure you don't stay in prison for long but don't go back to these dirty things"
The man nodded without saying anything.

Mason was waiting for Marwan
"Where is he?"
Marwan appeared behind him "Mason" Mason trembled and looked behind
"Marwan! Why did you come behind me quietly?" "Sorry"
"What did you do? Do you know where Maya is?"
"Yes on the second floor"
"Okay, how do we get in?"
"We'll enter through the front door"
"Are you crazy?"
"No there's one guard in the first floor and he's sleeping. Anwar and the other man are on the second floor"
"Great wait for us Maya We'll you"
"Where are your men?"
"They'll be here any minute"
"Great let's go"

Mason took out his gun from his pocket. They made their way to the house, Marwan opened the door with a key and they entered the living room directly the guard was sleeping on the couch Mason went to him and put the gun to his head the guard woke up and panicked
"Don't make any sound or I'll kill you"
The man raised his hand and nodded.

Marwan went to the kitchen but it was empty he came out and looked at the stairs to the second floor. He began walking up to the second floor and he tried to make as no sound as possible he reached the second floor the place was quiet and there were only two rooms on one side he went and checked the first room he heard a sound from the other room he left and made his way to the second room he waited for a moment before opening it.

He opened the door slowly he couldn't see well because of the darkness. He saw Maya in a corner of the room unconscious
"Maya"
he ran to her and checked her pulse he was relieved to know that her heart was beating.

He put the gun next to him and began untying the rope. Anwar put a gun to Marwan's head from behind, the man who was with Anwar went to the first floor he checked the living room the guard was unconscious on the couch the man put the gun down
"Useless"
he then looked at the kitchen the door was closed the man went and entered the kitchen
"Don't move" he said as he pointed the gun at the sink area but no one was there.

He felt that someone was behind him, but he didn't move because Mason pointed the gun at him
"Drop your gun"
he dropped the gun and raised his hands but then turned around and kicked Mason's hand and the gun fell
"Damn it" Mason shouted,
the man tried to kick him again in his face but Mason used his hands to protect himself and collided with the wall due to the force of the kick. He tried to punch Mason's face but Mason grabbed his wrist and punched him in the face.

"You're dumb aren't you," Anwar said, Marwan didn't respond.
Maya regained consciousness she looked at Marwan but her vision was blurry "Who is that?" she said hardly,
she knew him after her vision became clear
"Marwan," she said
"Are you okay Maya?"
"Yes... Mr. Anawr please stop he's only here to save me"
"That's a good reason to kill him"
"No" she began to cry loudly
"Calm down Maya nothing going to happen"
"How? he's going to kill you"
"No," Marwan said with a cold expression,
Anwar laughed until tears came out from his eyes
"Are you serious?"
"Laugh maybe it's your last"
he gave him a side eye which made Anwar angry and hit his face with the gun
"Marwan" Maya shouted in her trembling voice,
his left cheek near his mouth began to bleed.

Mason and the man were catching their breath and their face were full of bruises
"You're strong I didn't expect that," the man said,
Mason smirked "Bad for you"
The man furrowed his eyebrows "What?"
one of Mason's men shot his back two times through the window.

Anwar heard it and looked at the door, Marwan took the chance and took him down then he took the gun from him. He sat and put the gun at his head Anwar sat up and raised his hands
"Okay don't shoot Marwan"
"I told you that you cannot kill me because you are a coward but you see yourself as a strong, poor man"
Anwar became red from anger "You..."
"You're not in a position to say anything." 

Mason and one of his men came to the room
"Maya" "Brother"
"Untie her Mason"
Mason ran and untied the rope then helped her to sit
"Are you okay Maya?"
"Yes," she said as she began weeping, Mason hugged her to comfort her
"It's okay Maya you're safe"
Then he looked at her
"Did they do anything to you?"
She shook her head "No"
"Stop crying Maya we're going home to Dad and Mom"
Maya nodded and smiled.

Marwan was looking at them and remembered Yasmine
"It's really bad I'm not sure yet that she's my sister," he said to himself.

Mason turned to look at Anwar, unable to control his anger
"How dare you kidnap my sister, you bastard?"
Anwar rolled his eyes and didn't respond this made Mason even angrier, he punched him in the face very hard making him fall and his mouth began to bleed
"We were good to you and my father gave you a high position in the company, this is how you return the favor"
Anwar wiped his mouth and sat
"You were good to me" he smirked.

"I want to know your reaction when you find out what your father did in the past?"
Marwan eyes widened when he said that and looked at Mason and Maya, Mason furrowed his eyebrows, and Maya who was still terrified and barely catch her breath asked Anwar
"What do you mean?"
"Your father, whom you think is a good person, is not good but an evil person"

Mason grabbed him by the collar hard "Don't talk bad about my father or I'll make you forget your name"
"Mason let him, he's talking nonsense," Marwan said
"You're right there is no need to listen to this lying traitor"
he let his collar and commanded two of his men to take him out of the room
"Take him to the next room and guard him well until the police arrive"
The men took Anwar away.

Marwan was about to leave the room but he saw a necklace on the ground that made him freeze in his place.
