All the children went into Yiba's house. Yiba closed the doors and windows and checked if the ceilings were alright and not holed.
A few minutes passed and it started raining cats and dogs. The children were enjoying the pitter-patter of the raindrops.
"I'm bored", said Tuhi, who didn't enjoy the wet weather as much as others.
"I just realised that I am bored too", added Jay.
"Then... How about I tell you all a story?", asked Yiba.
"Yeaaaaahhhhh!!!", the kids yelled with excitement.
"Alright. I'll tell you all the story of Gīxæ ové Dïbàshõ(Guy-xshe ov-e dee-ba-shong), which stands for War of Division in Sanchese, also known as GoD.", said Yiba.
The children blinked their eyes- clueless, but with curiosity and zeal to listen to the story.Yiba started, "Around a thousand and five hundred years ago, the GoD occurred. It was said that the True Deitys whom everyone considered Gods actually lived with the people before the GoD. The True Deitys were the ones who mastered their powers so well and were so well balanced spiritually that they ascended immortality and became Gods. It was rumoured that these Gods saw the Three Holinesses who created the entire existence and balance it perfectly. It is said that they were assigned to give powers to the people who were worthy of it. They did their job well for a few centuries. But later got fed up of the immortality and wanted to have fun. So they didn't give powers to all the worthy and only gave it to the people close to them and who could do favours for the True Deitys. This enraged the people who had worked hard to purify themselves to welcome powers, but got none.
Hundreds of people who had devoted their entire life for the divine abilities came together and made a rebellious society. They had no divine powers but definitely had muscular powers. They started practicing physical combat techniques which later got called as martial arts. They seeked the help of science and many people who believed in science joined the rebellion. They invented weapons the world had never seen before. They created guns, grenades, bombs, canons, timed bombs, dynamites and other weapons using gun powder.
Their rebellion started off with petty attacks at places the power-holders visited regularly and grew into a full-fledged war with the power-holders.
At this time, when the True Deitys were supposed to intervene and make peace and give justice, they just sat back and watched the world burn down. But one of the True Deitys was not like the others. He had had enough of the bloodshed and wanted the world to be peaceful just like the Holinesses wanted it to be. So he intervened. His power was to gain control over anyone's consciousness and make them do things. He possessed the commander of the army of the power-holders and proposed a truce. He proposed that the war will end with no more bloodshed. The power-holders and the powerless must live in harmony. This did the exact opposite of what he had expected. Instead of calming down, the powerless became more aggressive. Why? Because they were not given justice for their entire life's hard work. The considerate True Deity came to the battle ground himself and possessed each and every person on the planet. He manipulated them into agreeing to the truce. He separated them and created a barrier between them. The construction of the barrier took months. He was being drained off of all the energy he had accumulated over his entire life. He was barely holding on. The other True Deitys still did nothing to bring back peace. They instead tried to disturb him and make him lose his concentration. But he made sure that some of the power-holders stood guard for him. Once the barrier was complete, he let go of all the minds. He was so weak that he could barely blink. Some people who had understood the value of peace helped him escape to a cave in the Snowtop mountains.""You are calling that True Deity with his pronouns from so long. What is his name ma'am?", asked Hirag.
"His name is not even mentioned once in the entire history. The other True Deitys made sure that his existence is erased from the books and even the minds of the people. They had made it illegal to even say his name. They went to the extent of changing the facts of history, saying that the powerless were jealous of the power-holders and started a war. It's obvious that the power-holders would prevail if that really happened, because of their powers. After that, the barrier was set up to stop the powerless from causing more trouble."
"That's so unfair", protested Karsh.
"Exactly", said Yiba. "We were not always this neglected and ill treated. We once had chances to get powers and become known in the world. Fighting and strength is in our blood. Our determination has more power than the powers of the Deitys.""Why are we not asking for justice then?", asked Tuhi.
"Because we can't. We are not allowed to. We are suppressed in all ways", explained Yiba.
"Let me continue the story.
That True Deity was forgotten as no one spoke about him.""How do you know the story then, mom?", asked Vaini.
"There are still some people in the Deity and Infirma society who follow that True Deity. They secretly passed on the story but made sure to not mention his name. I once accidentally entered a secret part of the library in my school in Deity society, when I was sneaking in to get some study materials. I found the secret book there and understood that the history was mis-told. I searched around to find a book which mentioned his name but found none.", replied Yiba."Oh!", said the children, not understanding the depth of this matter.
This wasn't just a story. It was injustice. Discrimination and keeping the Infirmas away from what is rightfully theirs too.The rain had subsided when the story finished. All the kids bid farewell to Yiba ma'am and started going back to their homes.
The future generation of Infirmas needs to know the truth. Might become a cause for a huge change, thought Yiba.
