Chapter 7 - Curiosity Killed the Cat - Part 2

I ran my fingers though my hair and snorted.

''You're kidding right?'' I huffed in their faces.

We were currently sitting in my living room. I was drinking warm milk. Milk always seemed to calm me.

"No." They both said at the same time. "We're dead serious." Saber added.

I looked over at him. He was wearing a pair of my long sweats. I tried a shirt too, but he ripped one of my favorite band tees straight in half. I nearly cried.

I made May take a shower as soon as we stepped through the door. She put on some clothes that she left one day before when she slept over at my house.

She came out wet, drying her hair, sitting in short shorts and a pink tank top. Of course she look beautiful, but no, Saber didn't even bat an eye at her when she came in. He was staring at me with those grey mysterious eyes.

Again it did things for me I didn't appreciate.

"So what your telling me is that you-" I pointed to Saber. "-are a werewolf and she-" I pointed to May this time. "-is a vampire."

"Yes." They said together.

"And not only did you not tell me, but also didn't tell me that this bastard is a werewolf." I said. I was not longer scared of him or that damn wolf. I wouldn't let him see me like that again. I was weak and I hated it.

She sighed and laid back on the coach. "I couldn't just come out and say 'Hey Silas I'd love to come over. Don't worry about me sucking your blood because I'm a vampire and all. Oh and that ass that keeps bothering you is a flea bag and thinks you're his mate.' Yeah sure, let's go with that."

I stare at her. "So you couldn't tell me why."

She laughed and looked me in the eyes. "You'd really believe me?"

I smiled at her. "Of course. You're my best friend."

She smiled. "I'm your only friend." she winked at me.

I heard growling and turned to see Saber had his hands clenched into fists with a hateful look on his face.

I raised an eyebrow. "I guess that it's true that vampires and werewolves do not get along."

She snort. "That's an understatement."

"So why where you in the woods? Were you guys fighting? Why were you fighting? Are you-" I asked question after question to May, concerned for her well being.

I saw Saber look away from me with his jaw clenched. His eyes flashed with hurt.

"Slow down cowboy. I was coming over earlier. I stopped for a quick hunt and caught wind of this idiot right behind your house. You'll have to ask him for the rest.''

"I was following you."

My jaw dropped. No beating around the bush.

He scratched his head. "Well, I wasn't following you. My wolf was. I was doing a run and I started to smell you. It's harder to control my wolf in his form."

"Oh, go suck rocks. You know you wanted to follow him."

"Well, of course. He's my mate." He said.

"What's the hell's a mate?" I questioned. I heard him say it before but brushed it off.

"The reason why we ended up arguing. I followed his scent and found him at the back of you house. I yelled at him. And he growled when he saw me. Then he had the nerve to accuse me of being with you. I mean I know your hot and all with that white blond hair and those blue eyes, but no."
