Mia was a whirlwind of sunshine at university. Nicknamed "Human Butterfly" by her friends for her overflowing knowledge about everyone and inability to keep her secrets, she flitted from conversation to conversation, the life of the party. Yet, there was one secret her face betrayed every time: her monumental crush on Alex, the quiet artist with eyes that held galaxies.

Since their first day, Mia's cheeks would erupt in a blush the mere moment he was near.

Her friends, bless their teasing souls, found endless amusement in this. They'd nudge her as Alex passed, their giggles a cruel symphony to her burning ears. Mia would retreat behind a mask of feigned indifference, burying herself in a textbook, the words blurring before her frustrated eyes.

Mia's sunny personality couldn't shield her forever. One night, during a truth-or-dare sleepover fueled by gossip and sugary snacks, the inevitable happened.

Mia landed on dare, and her friends, with the glee of mischievous pixies, dared her to send a follow request to Alex on Unigram, the university's social media platform.

Mia's blush could have rivaled a cardinal's crest. Sending a request to Alex felt like traversing a minefield blindfolded. Yet, with the unwavering gaze of her friends upon her, she took a deep breath and tapped the button. A silent prayer escaped her lips as she sent the request into the digital abyss.

The weeks bled into months, the semester culminating in a flurry of final exams and relieved sighs. Mia religiously followed Alex's Unigram profile, her heart swelling with pride at his fencing victories – the videos showcasing his lightning-fast reflexes and elegant footwork.

One evening, she posted a query for movie recommendations, scrolling through the suggestions with a detached smile. Suddenly, a private message popped up, the sender's name making her breath hitch. Alex. Her fingers trembled as she opened the message, but before she could process anything, another notification chimed – Alex had followed her back.

Her world tilted. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine Alex initiating conversation, let alone recommending a movie. A giddy warmth bloomed in her chest. This was a dream, a message in a bottle tossed into the vast digital sea, miraculously finding its way back to her.

Alex:Hey

Alex: I know that we don't meet often but if you want to watch something thrilling you have to watch The Avengers.

Mia's heart hammered a happy rhythm against her ribs.

Mia:Hey Alex

Mia:Thanks for the recommendation!

Mia:I wouldn't have thought The Avengers, but it sounds perfect for a movie night.

Mia: Have you seen the new series?

The message sent, a nervous anticipation bubbled in her stomach.

Would he reply?

What if it was just a friendly gesture?

Minutes ticked by, each chime of her phone sending a jolt through her. Then, just as she started to think her hopes had fizzled, a reply popped up.
