I arrived at Riley's and knocked on her door. Josh opened the door, and I looked away. "Hey Maya."

"Hi Josh," I replied coldly. I walked into Riley's room as she was on the phone with Kyle. She was all dreamy and smiley. I heard her end the call and waved to me. "Hey Riley."

"Hey Maya!"

"Why is Josh staying here?"

"Oh, he just wanted to visit for a while. He's staying until he graduates."

"Oh goody." I honestly just wanted to get over Josh, but my feelings were just messed up. Like my life. Yay.

"So have you started your part of the project?"

"Riley, I don't care about that right now."

"Listen, I know you're obsessed with Josh, but you shouldn't let your obsession stop you from doing anything else." Does she think I don't know that?

"I'm trying!" I snapped. Riley didn't understand. She was never infatuated with a boy before. The thing with Lucas was just a school girl crush. Well, not for Lucas, but...

"You don't have to yell at me!" Her eyes were still dreamy, but the nightmare kind. Most likely with unicorn horns.

"Stop trying to become my mom!"

"Why not? Not like you have one!" I slapped her. Being a bitch was my job. I was rubbing off her way too much. I then stormed out and tripped over Auggie. Or what I thought was Auggie.

"What's wrong?" Josh asked. You know, your niece insulted my mom. Oh wait, I don't have a mom, right Riley?

"I just really wish you would stop pretending to care." I didn't want to get hurt by two Matthews's in one day, so I just walked out. I nearly reached the lobby when something pulled me back. "What the hell?"

"I don't appreciate you cussing at me." Josh scolded.

"I don't appreciate you holding onto my arm but you still are." My arm felt light and "tingly", a strange feeling. I pulled my arm back reluctantly. HE TOUCHED ME!

"I know you like it," he winked, then went back to being serious. "What happened between you and Riley back there?"

"Do you really even care?"

"Yeah. I do. A lot actually."

"It was nothing, listen I gotta leave for school." For the third time that day, I left, just as my father did.
