'My Dearest Love'

'Chapter Four'

As the dark night sky slowly turns to daylight. Ling Yi who sneaked back in last night is now currently in a dilemma.

Flipping through the enormous closet filled with luxury brands. Thinking to himself which would be the best outfit for his first official date.

"If I wore this would it be too bold for a first date? What if she wouldn't like it.." Ling Yi thought as he pulled out a two piece black hermes tuxedo.

On his right , he picked out another set of clothes. A plain white tee paired with a soft gray jacket with jeans. Wondering back and forth between the two like it was crucial.

While still in a dilemma , a ring came from his phone. His attention was then diverted upon the phone , turning around to grab his phone on the bed.

It was a message. Ling Yi presses onto the notification and was brought to a photo. It was An Zai. The photo was An Zai , who was currently wearing a sleeveless flowy white dress.

Looking at her cute pose in the photo immediately putted Ling Yi in a good smile , eye to eye. His attention was then pulled back onto the set of clothes on his right hands. Finnaly knowing the awnser to his dilemma.

It's almost 1 o'clock.

Realising time wasn't going to wait for him , Ling Yi rushes to change out of his pajamas into the outfit that took him literally minutes or maybe even hours to pick out.

After changing , Ling Yi looked satisfied staring at the huge mirror in his room. With hands in his pockets , posing left and right , he thought "yea THIS is the one."

But time wasn't waiting for him as his phone beeped the alarm he set hours ago so he would be out on time.

And now it was 12.50 p.m.

Knowing the time , his eyes widen in a rush as he storms out his room , running down the stairs and eventually out the door.

Just the fact that he was going to be late on his first date made him continue to run out the front gate. So much for him choosing a lambo to drive to the café last night.

As he picked up his pace , his heart pounds not only due to the aderline rush he was currently feeling from all that running. But the thought of seeing her could always just somehow make his heart pound in nervousness and joy.

Upon reaching the agreed destination,  he stopped at a small café near the roadside. Panting heavily from the run he just had as he looks left and right to search for her presence.

Lost in trying to find her , someone tapped his shoulder from behind. He turns around to meet her eyes. Ah there she was , he thought to himself. An unconsious smile appeared yet again infront of her presence.

An Zai looks at Ling Yi with big round eyes , like she was stunned at something. Noticing her reaction , Ling Yi felt nervous for some reason.

"Did she not like my outfit today? Was it because I'm late?" His mind was flowing with on and on awnsers as his breathing slows down.

But to his suprise , An Zai's sudden reaction made him even more confused. A cheery laughing An Zai was given in response. His eyebrows furrowed , squinting his eyes trying to figure out again what she meant by that.

Only for An Zai to be on her tippy toes as she leans forward,  ruffling his messed up hair. Ling Yi froze at the sudden action An Zai had chosen to do , with wide eyes he stared back at An Zai in shock , not knowing how to respond.

She smiled back at his confused state ,  pointing at her own hair. The confused Ling Yi slowly raised his hand and touched his current messed up hair from the run.

Turning to his left as the reflection from the cafe's window shows his hair that was all fizzed from the run he had till here.

Seeing himself in that state , he rushes to brush out his now fizzed hair with the help of his hands , trying to smoothen it out.

Semi satisfied with his hair after brushing , he turns back to An Zai with his hands on his neck to hide his now redden neck from embarrassment. Trying to silently laugh it off.

An Zai took out a notebook and pen and started jotting something down.

"It's okay! You looked cute anyways , let's go in? I want an iced caramel latte so bad! :)"

An Zai turned around the page showing.

The embarrassed Ling Yi sighs in relief at her respond. Thank lord she didn't think he was weird or thought he had that hair on purpose...

He smiled and nodded back at An zai , as they both entered the café. Ling Yi headed to the counter with An Zai beside him.

"Welcome to Kai Xin Ka Fei , what can i get you?"

The waitress stood at the counter , scrolling through videos with her head down as she asked in a 'I do not get paid enough for this job' tone. As he opened his mouth about to speak , he realised that he wasn't able to.

Annoyed , the waitress raised her head up about to cuss out on Ling Yi , not being in the mood to deal with such a customer.

God might have pitied her , giving her ugly customers to serve every day. One look at Ling Yi , she felt all her worries and anger disperse. Sucked back to reality , she cleared her throat , repeating what she said earlier but this time in a way too different tone.

"Welcome to Kai Xin Ka Fei! What can I specially get for you?" The waitress smiled at Ling Yi thinking to herself that she had just won the lottery of all time.

After successfully reading what the waitress said , Ling Yi pulled out his phone from his pocket and started typing out his order and An Zai's.

"One grape soda and one iced caramel latte"

The waitress smile froze at spot as she slowly nods in respond to his request.

"Gosh what is he mute?! Deaf?! Cant believe I have to come across these   their annoying to deal with." She thought to herself as her smile slowly turned into a frown.

"Take out or having it in?" The waitress huffs tiredly looking at Ling Yi like he was some disappointment.

Ling Yi tried to read her lips movement but sadly wasn't able to fully get it.

"I'm sorry can you repeat that? If its about takeing out or having it in , we'll be having it in..." He typed down on his phone and turned it around for the waitress.

"Gosh are you deaf or mute or socially unavailable?! Ya this is crazy , if you are either of these just done come out to order!" The waitress burst out , staring back at Ling Yi with disgusts and anger.

Ling Yi who still wasn't able to fully understand what she had just said , stood there confused. That angry look on her face told him that this wasn't going anywhere good.

He immediately rushed down to note that he wasn't able to hear , and he had lost his hearing not too long ago.

Before he was able to turn it around , An Zai stepped imfornt of him and shouted back at girl.

"Are you genuinely crazy or what?! This isn't even a way of treating your customers. That's probably why your even working in a café as a waitress instead of earning big money!" An Zai argued back , fuming in anger.

The waitress seemed defeated by what An Zai said , as she silently went back to inputing Ling Yi's order.

Ling Yi felt something he had never felt before in such a long time. Safe.

As his heart beats faster each second , he felt all warm over. Has anyone ever stood for him in any sort of way before?

Yeah , no. Even without being able to hear , he somehow knew.

"Ah , so this is what it means to have someone to protect you..." Ling Yi thought to himself.
