Sophia kept walking away from Lando as quickly and possible as she went to meet Jenn.

Jenn was still side by side with Charles with the biggest grin on her face.

Sophia reached her and Jenn immediately grabbed her by the arm and pulled her, getting away from Charles.

"What the hell was that with Lando?" She shouted in Sophia's ear so that she could hear over the loud music.

"What are you talking about?" Sophia responded feigning confusion.

"Hello? The eye contact? The proximity? Everything!"

"How did you even see all of that? Weren't you talking with Charles?" Sophia questioned with suspicion.

"Well, he may have told me to look at you two."

"What?! You're joking right?" Sophia said as she felt her cheeks blushing. "Anyway, I don't know what you're talking about."

"Seriously? I'm talking about how you two just stood there, really close, just staring at each other. Was he a jerk again? What did he tell you?"

Sophia didn't really know what to respond. She couldn't admit not to herself nor to her best friend that there had been tension between her and Lando, but she also didn't want to lie to Jenn.

"He didn't say anything special, don't worry about it." Was the best response Sophia could think of.

"Don't worry about it? Is that the best you've got, seriously? What are you hiding from me, Sophia?" Jenn questioned with a frown starting to form on her face.

"Nothing, alright. I just don't wanna talk about it."

"So he did say something mean?"

"No! Just let it go!" Sophia shouted unnecessary loud.

Jennifer looked stunned, like she couldn't comprehend what has just happened. Sophia quickly came to her senses and immediately started apologising.

"I'm so sorry Jenn, I don't know where that came from."

"No, I'm sorry. This is clearly a very sensitive topic for you." Jenn answered with disappointment written all over her face.

"Look Jenn, I'm sorry okay? I'm not feeling so good, I think I'll just head back to the hotel."

Jenn scoffed and just said "Fine, whatever you want." And walked away to the dance floor.

Sophia was flushed with a wave of regret for being a jerk to her best friend that came to surprise her, but she couldn't deal with it at that moment.

Sophia started walking away at a fast pace when she tripped on someone's foot and fell hard on the floor.

She attempted to get up and soon felt someone's hands holding her and helping her up.

It was Charles helping her after causing her to trip, accidentally.

Sophia got up and when she set her foot on the floor she felt a piercing pain shooting through her ankle.

"Fuck, my ankle." She mumbled, but Charles heard her.

"Merde" he cursed under his breath "I'm so sorry Sophia, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, just kinda hard to put weight on my ankle." She said as she limped to the bar and reached for a stool.

"Something strong, don't care what, please." Sophia said after waving to the barman.

While Sophia drowned her pain with several drinks, Charles paced towards Lando.

"Hey Lando, need a favor."
