A and N each left for their new jobs.
N wasn't satisfied with A's comments on yesterday's incident. She didn't expect such a reaction from him.
She wanted to discuss the lights, but A ruined her excitement. His behavior was so surprising to N.
As if he wasn't in the usual A in front of her. When N remembered those moments of last night she was feeling crazy inside, but A was too unenthusiastic about it.
N came to the front of the building marked "Papyrum" and remembered yesterday's holiday.
The building looked busy, there was a lot of people going in and out. At that moment, a dwarf saw N and told her to come inside.
N listened to him and entered. The first thing she noticed when she walked in was if she saw anyone familiar. Because she wanted to see T, B, or J and maybe also V and work with one of them there together.
But she didn't see any of them. Complete strangers and dwarves existed. Most of the people were boys and only one girl stood out. They were all standing side by side. A dwarf standing in front of them looked at N when he saw her coming.
"You line up too! Your name?"
"AC-918." said N, and went over to them.
The dwarf's face showed a hint of mildness. He seemed different than the others. This was the second nice dwarf N saw here after the dwarf in the mill.
One strange feature was that the dwarf was young. She had never seen a young dwarf here before.
"So..." he said in a gentle tone of voice, "For those who don't know, I'm PC-416. I will divide your work for you. Boys!" he said looking at the four boys, "You girls are on the second floor in the "sectione"."
N saw thin tree branches placed in a large area in the room. Hundreds of tree branches were collected and divided into three separate parts.
"Girls, follow me."
Another dwarf called them to the stairs.
The factory gave off a chemical smell. However, this smell was lighter than the one in the kitchen.
N followed the other dwarf upstairs. There were also two female dwarves here. As soon as they saw N and the other girl coming, they came to them.
The old dwarf woman said something to the dwarfs in their own language and went downstairs.
N looked around there. On this floor, there were sections arranged in parts. A clay-like solder was visible inside some iron basins. When N looked at them, she thought they must be a paper substance.
"You!"
"AC-871." said the girl.
"You come with me."
One of the dwarfs took the girl with her.
"You?" asked the other dwarf.
N said the name she made up again.
"And you're here," said the dwarf, taking her to the last section.
"You will perform the work of cutting "papyrum"." said the dwarf woman.
In front of N were square iron mouldings. The dwarf woman soon came to her with wet, thin pieces of wood-colored paper.
The pieces were large and untidy. The woman ordered N to cut them one by one. But she left without teaching her how to cut them out.
N looked around without doing anything. She saw another girl working a little distance away. She worked more accurately. N decided to ask her for help.
"Hey!" called her in a quiet voice, "Could you help me?"
