Samantha and i are in our room. She's sat on the desk chair but later on moved to lay down beside me having me sandwich in between ethan on my left and my wife on the right.
Ethan slept peacefully although he was crying due to him still feeling the sting from earlier.
"Baboo?"
"Yeah?"
"Is that why you didnt wanna have another child? Is it because im a irresponsible mother?" I felt a pang on my chest did i made her feel that way? Or is my mother's words are getting to her?
"Of course not babe, did i made you feel that way? Im sorry. I just dont think its the best time for all of these yet. Ethan feels more than enough to me"
"Right. Im sorry for asking again. "
"I love you" i whispered softly in her ear and kissed her head.
"I love you more" she replied as i run my hand through her hair
"Go to sleep, i'll wake you up to get ready for dinner later "

We all dressed casual for dinner because well, were in an island.
Everyone in the dining table was quiet, nobody engaged in any conversation, nor did anyone try to start one. But the silence broke when my mother hit her wine glass with a knife that made a clank noise
"I'd like to take this moment. Para humingi ng tawad for my behaviour few hours ago. Sana Samantha mapatawad mo na ako" is she genuine about this? Or dahil nagbanta ako na lalayo kami?
"Of course ma" my wife stood up and so did my mother and they shared a hug.
"Finally no awkwardness in the air" Abe shouted and threw a fist in the air.
"Sorry tita ngayon lang po ako nakarating" i turn my head para masdan ang lalaking nag beso sa mother ko. Who is he?
"Thats okay hijo, come sit with us" he took a seat beside maureen.
"Thank you for understanding tita"
Everyone went back to the conversation they're having. My wife was talking to whoever this guy was. And i can tell by the way he looks at my wife. Parang may pagtingin ito kay samantha.
"Isaac pala, you are? "
"Samantha " she smiled. Why is she smiling at him for??
He extended his hand over the table to shake and samantha gladly accepted it. He was holding onto her hand a bit too long enough and she wasnt breaking it as well.
So i purposely dropped my kubyertos. Oops.
And thats when they broke it.
"Ate could you give me another fork?"i said and picked up the fork, passed it to the waitress then thanked her.
"Aww and whos this cute little man. Anak mo?" he continued the conversation they were having. Samantha nodded answering his question
"Im ethan."
"Nice to meet you ethan. You're so cute, how old are you"
"4" ethan said and showed 4 with his fingers.
"You're so matalino"
"Of course. I got it from my mummy" im offended. Samantha lang ba? Me rin ah
"I can tell"
he paused.
"Your mother is beautiful, smart, elegant and charming" he said earning a small chuckle from samantha.
Am i invisible in this table? Ako lang ba ang nakikita na they're obviously flirting??
They continued talking but everything was muffled to me. I didnt know what to do, or what to say. All i wanted was to leave the dining table. But i didnt wanna be rude. And show lack of manners.
So i stayed.
Slicing the piece of filet mignon in the plate infront of me. Having a straight face and no emotion shown.
"You okay?" The other Sam asked (Samantha Bernardo/ SamBer) sincerely, patting my back trying to show empathy. I guess she see what i see as well. Atleast one isnt blind.
"Yeah. Why wouldnt i be?"
"Your face"
"What?" I wipped my face with tissues
"Is there something on my face?"
She chuckled and shaking her head no
"Your face is so sour"
"Hindi namannn"
"Well cant blame you. a guy is flirting with your wife infront of you. And you havent done anything about it"
"Hindi naman ata. They're just friendly?" I reasoned. Trying to fool myself.
"Mag pa check up ka na. Bulag ka ata i just know everyone in this room can feel it."
"Ayaw ko lang mag away kami. "
"Still, you have all rights to say something. "
"Thanks for caring about me. But i rather not, really Sam i dont want to end up fighting in a trip where were supposed to be having all fun. Biggest fear if that ever happens"
"Fair enough"
"But im okay i swear"
"Sige sabi mo eh. Basta promise pagsasabihan ko yan siya mamaya"
"Theres no need"
"I insist. Its sad seeing you like this" i remained silent and gave her a weak smile not wanting to drag the conversation any further. Coz i'll just only get pity and sympathy out of it.
I stare at the two laughing, talking to each other. He moved beside her this time.
"Act professional please michelle". I said repeatedly in my head.
