CHAPTER 4 - Urgent calls & Family talks

3rd person pov :

It is 7 in the morning and still Ankitha haven't returned from the recording. All the members actually passed out in the living room. The younger ones had some works so they all went but Shreyas stayed back. He was so sure that he wanted to see Ankitha before she leaves to her hometown. But fate had different plans.

He was making Sammy sleep on his chest and supporting his back on the bean bag. His Rits bhabhi asked him to place her on the bed where Ziva was already sleeping, as if on the cue, his phone started ringing so he took Sammy and made her sleep on the bed

He took his phone to see his amma calling, he attended the call

*In call

''Hello amma''

''Shreyas beta, come home soon na ?'', his mom asked

''But amma, is it so urgent?'', he asked back because he wanted to meet Ankitha in-person so bad and his mom's voice was dangerously sweet so he can sense something is coming on his way

''Yes Shrey, come soon. We want to discuss something with you, it is so urgent'', his mom replied and added,''please beta'' and that's it. Shrey couldn't see his amma pleading especially because of him,"okay amma , I'll be there".

"Guys, I gotta go, Amma is calling", he informed Vi and his bhabhi "Thanks for coming, Shrey",Vi said.

"Seriously bhai", he said with a dramatic hurt expression "I came for Nush bhabhi", he added and side hugged her making Vi slightly irritated "And for Anki, too", Vi fored back earning a glare from Nush and got caught expression from Shrey.

"Bye, bye guys", he bid bye to everyone and went to home and Shardh joined him , as both of them went to 'Shreyas's villa'.

On the other hand, Ankitha came home after recording. She saw everyone passed out on the living room, Nush and Vi let her sleep in the room where the kids were sleeping. This day is going to be a tiring one, let her get some rest.

Coming back to Shrey, he and Shardul went inside the house and saw his mom and dad sitting on the couch, they were quite tensed. Betty, his pet dog came running to him as he patted her back.

"Amma, appa", Shardh called out.

"Shardh beta, it is good you came too", His amma said and brought him into a hug

"Shrey, you already told us that you are not dating anyone but we wanted to confirm it once again, are you in any relationship, Shrey?", His appa asked.

Shrey's dad don't beat around the bush especially not to his son, this father son duo is actually that bestfriends type of duo, of course he respected his appa but he doesn't fear him.

"No pa, I'm not. You guys called me for something urgent but now you are asking this?"

"It is important beta, we have seen you a girl, she is from chennai", his amma slowly started reading his expression.

"So, they are also okay with you and our family. It is an auspicious day so we thought we could meet their family today", his amma said.

"But mom, isn't it too soon?", Shardh asked

"Shardh, we don't clearly remember your schedule but your schedule is packed with IPL, bilateral series and not to mention World cup", his appa said

"Shrey? You are being silent, are you okay with this?", his amma asked with a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Amma, I'm okay, but I'm scared ma...getting into a relationship, that too getting married, it brings responsibilities ma. What if she done the same thing as Shanaya did ?", Shreyas spoke for the first time, voicing his concern.

"Not everyone is like Shanaya, beta", his mom said comfortingly. Shanaya was Shreyas's first love which shattered his heart. That made shrey stop believing in love, and gave this responsibilities to his parents.

"But amma, will I be able to handle the responsibilities and pressure ma, just like dad did?", he asked again.

"Shreyas look, it is your life, you have to be you and not me, we would definitely support you and tell you what is right and wrong but don't try being me, be YOU", his appa said.

"Yes beta, you know your father was utterly stupid and so aggressive, he will take all the stupid decisions-", his amma said.

"Dad, how come you are so silent, amma is calling you stupid", Shardh asked in disbelief.

"I actually was", his dad said as a matter of fact leaving the youngsters shocked and Shrey's amma smiled in victory.

"I was so reckless and that is when your amma came into my life, she changed it totally, when your responsibilities gets high, your partner will help you out, Shrey", His appa said.

"Okay, all settled then, let me bookthe tickets, is Shreshtha coming dad?", Shardh asked.

"Yes, Shardh"

"Show me her photo or something ma, don't tell me you are keeping it as a surprise", Shrey asked.

"Someone is in hurry", Shradh teased.

"Shut up, Shardh", Shrey fired back.

"Ma, pa, flight is in two hours, we better go get ready soon", Shradh informed and Shreyas's amma and appa left to pack leaving a surprised Shrey, he is gonna see the girl he is getting married to but didn't know who that is ,"Shrey, come you have to go pack your bags, I've to pack mine too. I asked ma , we are going to stay there for a week if it is okay with both the families, now don't do any dreams, get up", Shardh blabbered.

"Shardh shut up, I'm going", Shrey huffed and went to pack his bags.

Back @ kohli's place :

All of Vi's teammates left, it was just the gang and Vi. They had breakfast and was just catching up and chilling in the backyard.

"Di you wanted to tell me something na ?", Anki asked remembering the call they had in the early morning.

"Anki, ok, listen", Anushka started and they can sense her nervousness. "Vi's gonna be a mom",

"WHAT?!", Vi, Ani and Adi shouted at the same time as Riya laughed hysterically.
"No,no,no sorry guys, Anki-", Nush started blabbering and Anki stopped her "Didi, relax, I understand and I'm sooo happy for you guysss", she hugged both her Di and Jiju.

After few mins, Anki's phone started ringing and it was fer amma. She attended the call and her amma and appa were bickering who would speak first

"No, you tell", her appa said

"NO, not me", her amma retorted

"Guys, either one of you tell, I'm getting on my nerves", Ankitha said.

"Okay, fine, you get OUT", her amma fired to her dad and continued,"Anki, I'm on speaker, right?"

"Yea ma"

"Listen, we have booked your flight tickets, which is in an hour, so you guys better get ready and come to Chennai", she blasted

"WHAT? AMMA, ARE YOU EVEN SERIOUS?!"

"yes, I'm. Now don't shout. Give the call to Anu and turn off the speaker", she ordered.

Anushka got the phone and went away, the conversation seemed heated for a moment but eventually turned to a sweet one.

"Vi, they didn't book a ticket for you because they thought you have matches", Anu said and continued,"Guys, hurry up"

"No di, you are not coming", Riya said and Ani added,"We are going na, we will handle Anki, okay?, you should be resting di"

"You guys talk like I'm not even here", Anki commented and obviously ignored by them except Vi who gave her a teasing smile.

"No, that's not gonna work, I'm definitely coming, now go get your bags ready", she said in a stubborn tone as they all looked at their Jiju, who just shrugged in defeat.
