They were in hell. It was the only way to describe this case. No other words was strong enough to summarize everyone's suffering in a way that served them the justice that they deserve. Hell. Los Angeles was supposed to be the city of angels, but the darkness of the city suffocated all of the light. Almost as if the light had never been there at all.

Matt Spicer.

Kristin Spicer.

Ellie Spicer.

Their names kept falling from Iris's lips in a desperate, but silent, plea for none of their stories to end here. For all of them to make their ways back to each other.

"One more thing. There was another couple murdered a mile from here an hour ago." The words drew Iris's attention away from Morgan's squirming figure. " We've got a team there, but we're pretty sure it was the same guy."

"Where's Matt?" All of the chatter was fading away again.

Why take the girl? Ellie is just a child, she isn't going to be able to provide intellectual solutions. Not at this age. Especially when she hasn't had much experience trying to regulate her emotions in the middle of a life and death situation. The only answer that made sense was a power play. The assault on Kristin wasn't out of character for this unsub.

This supposed "Prince of Darkness". The titled nauseated Iris, leaving his mouth sour. There was no honor in murder.  All reports of this unsub heavily disproved the possibility of him being honorable .

"How is he?" Aaron Hotchner. Stoic as ever, his presence did help to loosen Morgan's tense shoulders.

"It's nothing, Hotch." It was certainly something. The guilt was eating him alive, and if Derek continued to let it then it would kill him.

"He needs a cat scan, stitches, and a lot of rest." The EMT was struggling to apply the bandages that Derek needed with him resisting. Iris held Derek's arm down so she could finish looking at his head.

"She's right, Morgan." Rossi reprimanded, giving Iris a nod to thank him for helping to keep Derek still.

"Guys, I'm not going to any hospital until we find that little girl." He went to pull his arm away but Iris held firm. "Please, just put a bandage on it."

"What did you write down?" A small notebook had been flopping around in Derek's other hand but the writing was now visible.

"I asked the sister to tell me everything she could remember about the unsub." Quicker than he could keep up with, his left arm was free and now his right hand was empty.
