Chapter 7: Doing Research

After crying for a little while, Barney went over to the library to do some research. She was going to look up all information about her grandfather , and that meant getting every single book on Sherlock Holmes that there was. She didn't care how long it took her, well... as long as it didn't take the entire week she didn't care. Barney got two books about Sherlock Holmes, one was the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the other was the casebook of Sherlock Holmes. she read them in half an hour, she took notes, reread, and compared what she did to what he did. she realized some of the mistakes that she made that she could have prevented, but it was too late now. she could prevent something that she almost did though, she could have put someone at risk... by almost going off on another wild goose chase to see if she can find the woman she was looking for, she could have put salmon at risk, you could have died trying to save her for something that could have been prevented, and was prevented. as long as Sam didn't get hurt she was glad, she was glad that she could die in peace knowing that Sam was okay for a while. she plugged in some headphones and started playing Green Day or favorite band. She use that music to help her sink out plans and stuff like that, she also started to eat a little bit of a snack in secret in the library... Because of course you're not allowed to eat in the library. she took a bunch of the FBI's case file information with their permission of course, but nothing was coming up. besides the fact that she looked guilty, and the two other women looked guilty. But she already knew that. this was getting very complicated, she didn't know what to do. Barney was afraid for the first time in many, many years. Very, very afraid.

" Ugghhh this is so frustrating!" Barney said slamming a book down in protest.

Sam walk in the library at that moment and looked at her with a look of surprise, shock, and sadness on his face. Barney look at him on the verge of tears, and just stared. Not knowing what to say for the first time in a long time as well.

" I can't say I'm not surprised to see you here..." he says, " but Barney, why do you have to do this, you're ruining your life, or what's left of it. You're spending all the time that you could be spending with the person you love right now, on a stupid, stupid case."

" you know this case means more to me than anything, and what do you mean that I love you? do you just assume that because I'm hanging out with you so much that I love you? I just hang out with you because you're the only person who could stand me, you're my friend, nothing more." she said coldly.

The look of utter hurt, was what made her cry. They both said sorry and checked out the books, they went to Sams place and read and studied up on the cases, but found nothing... But Barney fell asleep and dreamed up a crazy, but logical dream.
