Barney woke up to a really awful smell. She couldn't quite place the scent but it was terrible. It smelled like death... She assumed it was Sam's feet because his feet always smelled bad. She got out of bed and went downstairs to see what her mom was making them for breakfast plugging her nose until she got downstairs. Her mother had told them the previous night that she would make them an amazing breakfast surprise for their sleepover and she wouldn't even hint to them what she was making. But when Barney entered the kitchen, no one was in there. She assumed that her mom was still sleeping so she turned around to look at the clock. It was 12:00 pm. Her mom should be awake... she told them breakfast would be ready by 10:00 am. She was confused so she ran upstairs, and woke Sam up.

"Sam, wake up, I think my mom is still sleeping because she didn't make breakfast and it's noon."

"Oh come on B, lemme sleep some more..." Sam mumbled closing his eyes again.

"GET UP SAMUEL!!!" she screeched at him.

"I'M UP!" he said jumping three feet in the air.

Sam got out of his sleeping bag, and put a shirt on. We walked out of our rooms and walked quietly towards my parent's bedroom. The stench got much, much worse. Plugging our noses, Sam and I knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

"Damn, Sam said, your dad musta ate some beans last night."

I tried not to crack up, in case my parents would hear. We knocked again and when we got no reply we went downstairs and had some cereal with sprinkles in it. We ate it quietly in the kitchen and thought about how weird it was that my parents weren't awake yet. My father was a business man who woke up at 5:00 am every morning. Even on the weekends, and my mom was a banker who woke up at 4:00 am, she had to open up the bank every morning so she would be awake from years of habits. At first I thought they could be at the store but that couldn't be right, we had a full fridge and extra cooler. What could have happened? I sat at the table drinking my orange juice getting more anxious as the time went by, until finally I couldn't wait any longer.

"I'm going in there." I said.

"Don't forget your gas mask!" Sam jokes.

"Hardeehar." I say sarcastically, getting up from the table.

I ran up the stairs two at a time and went to the door, plugging my nose from the stench. I knocked one more time and slowly opened the door a crack, just enough for one eye, and you would not believe what I saw...
