Getting ready

Once again my i-coffin started to buzz. I had set the timer to go off a little bit early so I could get my things together before we left.

When I got to the room, all the girls from school were there. I started to panic and quickly slipped into the shadows so they wouldn't see me. A few people were sat on the bunk bed. One person was playing with my toy bunny, Midnight.

/Midnight is mine!!!! Put her down!!😡/

I wanted to scream.

Another person was reading my "intro to talismans" book.

/That IS a great book but PLEASE get off it!/

I crossed the room quickly and grabbed Midnight off her.

Girl: Hey! Give that back!

Me: No! SHE'S mine! And she's a girl not a that!

I stroked her silvery fur. That always calms me down.

Girl: Well I had it first!

She pulls on her foot.

Me: HER! You had HER first! And I Don't Care! She's Mine!

I pulled back.

I heard the worst sound.

A small rip.

Silence.

A scream.

Who?

Me.

I ran out of the room, curled up in a little ball and cried.

It was only a tiny rip. I could sew her back together when I got home but right then it was the end of the world.

A few minutes later, someone came out of the room and sat down next to me. It was Howleen. I was surprised. I'd never really spoken to her before.

Howleen: Mimi said she's sorry about your bunny.

I don't say anything.

Howleen: does she have a name?

Me: (Midnight. Or Midi for short.)

She laughs. It doesn't sound mean though.

Howleen: We're all doing makeovers, do you want to join in?

Me: (really?)

Howleen: yeah🙂.

I don't usually like makeup but...

Me: ok?
