So it's not just gonna happen like that,

Gwen Stefani - Hollaback girl.

My mind starts to get absorbed from this novel I've been reading. It's about 700 pages, but I read 250 in the span of 2 days. When I read, it brings me into a perfect world the book creates. Unfortunately, I'm forced to live in this somewhat of a dystopia.

"Hello? Earth to pretty boy?" Derek's hand comes into my eyes' view. I turn to his direction to see that the "Quantico Beauties" have come back into view. It's a group of 3 girls that look like they're nice, but they're actually full of negative nancies.

For now, here's the 3 girls in the clique:

Jennifer Jareau: She compliments in public, and drags in private.

Elle Greenaway: Not afraid to speak her mind, and the ultimate class skipper.

Penelope Garcia: The tech wiz of the bunch, and she runs our school section on a blog site, X-Press Media.

"Now look who it is..." Elle gives off a cold stare. "Mr. Nerdy boy."

Penelope scoffs. "Looks like he stil uses cd players. Mp3's are the thing now, reid."

"I've heard of MP3s." I state. "However, with a cd, you actually own the music you play."

"Oh, im sorry. are you the artist of the song?" Elle pushes her MP3 player in her jeans pocket.

"Hey you. Spencer can be whoever he wants to be. Singer or not." derek blasts at the clique.

Jennifer whispers something in elle and penny's direction, which they giggle and walk of afterwards.

"Man, Spence!" My bestfriend lowers his eyebrows. "Who knew that such attractive girls can be so cruel."

"Especially if they're an ex of yours." my mind shfits to thinking about elle.

"don't let them beat you up. you're the queen bee, and they're the small flies that make the honey expire."

"elle didn't make the 'honey' expire." i claim. "she actually made it brighter."

"bright things eventually fade to darkness. even the strongest light bulbs get dimmer and dimmer." derek's hand gets placed on my shoulder.

"i guess your right." i lightly sigh. i mix my green tea with the unnecessarily bright straw, and slowly take a few sips.

"even the best drinks slowly turn into emptiness."
