You take the man out of the city,

not the city out the man. - Djo, End of Beginning.

I quickly pick up the school flier from my big, but messy desk drawer. The building sits in all of its glory while photoshopped, suspiciously smiling kids sit on a park bench. I peek inside the paper to see a dirty blonde guy with a checkered shirt with a tie and tight jeans. out of curiosity, i open the paper up to look at him better.

"is that... spencer reid?" i murmur to myself. As far as I know, he has the highest IQ out of anyone in america. I believe it's 187. I grab my brush from the same draw and fix myself up for tomorrow.

"micah!!" I hear a distinct but loud voice coming from downstairs. "can you make ronnie's formula?"

Ronnie is my cousin, technically. Both his mom and dad travel a lot for work, so he often stays with us for the time being.

I groan while I fix up my curls and speed walk to the kitchen. Ronnie runs up the same stairs with his favorite dinosaur and superhero figurines. He practically tripped me and made me skip a step.

"Ronnie, don't you want your drink?" I question as he sprints in the hallway.

"i don't want drinks" he says with a sassy tone "but my t-rex does!" The t-rex toy shoots up from his hands like a rocket. it makes a surprisingly loud tone when it hits the floor.

"you don't really have a choice." I chuckle a bit from the toy falling. "lets go, big guy."

Ronnie's face grows to be pretty red, considering he doesn't like his nightly formula from the nutritionist. He's lacking more vitamins than he should, and he also gets full pretty quickly.

we go downstairs to the voice of pans clanging against each other. The chocolatey smell of cookies started to travel through my nose, and I could tell it travels through Ronnie's nose too. This made him less red, which means he will get a cookie if he fully drinks his formula.

"Here's two cookies for the smartest son I know!" my mom hands me over two of the sweetest cookies on the pan. a shiver crawls down my spine from all the cringe I just heard. I place down the snacks and quickly make the instant version of Ronnie's formula, since my eyes can't stay open for more than 3 minutes.

"You have school tomorrow?" Ronnie grabs his daily word search paper from a wood and pretty wobbly table.

"I guess so, but I am pretty excited about it" I respond, taking a tiny bite of the cookie. My eyes are slowly starting to close, then open, then close again, causing a yawn to travel out of my mouth.

"That's great!" my mom pours water onto the sticky, crumbly pans so it could be easier to wash. "Why are you so excited about it today? You've always..."

My body starts to power to sleep mode, just from being so exhausted. For every second that my eyes are closed, I feel like I'm traveling into another dimension...

That dimension being waking up in my plain colored, full-sized bed from the alarm of my favorite song on my newly-made playlist so far, end of beginning.
