The Journey To The Jungle

The thick foliage was almost blindingly beautiful. The lush, crocodile green leaves, with emerald green treetops housed more animals than even Ono knew about. And despite living there all her life, Shani couldn't even name half of the animals that lived here. It was really an experience, one which they were enjoying. Ono and Shani got to know each other, not realising that they left Kion out, but he didn't mind. In fact, he was too focused on finding where they needed to go. A massive clearing in the heart of the jungle, where all species who didn't have a home lived, relaxing and getting along. Of course, it was important to get a rebellion started, but what troubled Kion the most was that Scar was deeply involved with this whole problem. It was possibly the most heart-breaking thing to know that Scar will never be happy until all have suffered and he rules, and that he is related to Kion. And that his voice tempts him to join him when things seem lost, and then that voice inside him sparks up, and everything is put back to normal. Kion is nothing like Scar, so they say, but it is only a matter of time until he gets his scar. I mean, when he betrays his guard, loses the roar and becomes evil. Thoughts like these can haunt someone for eternity, but fear is what Scar wants. What he seeks for his plan to work, and for Kion to become scared, no longer confident in his ability. But perhaps a trip like this is needed in order for him to be happy, and Scar to be defeated. All these thoughts raced through his mind until he noticed something strange. Something seemed to be moving. Ono and Shani noticed it too, both also scanning the perimeter.

"Watch your backs guys. Anyone could be out there.", said Kion, who was very focused on getting away from whatever that mysterious noise was, and heading right back to the mission. Nothing seemed to be happening, so they continued their trek. But it was hot, even worse in the jungle than in the Pridelands, and it was obvious that the dry season had taken it's toll on some of the water sources. Small lakes were depleted, and plants lifeless and droopy. It reflected the mood of some of the animals around here.

After a while, they came across a tree where they could rest for the night, along with some water. And it didn't take long for Ono and Shani to fall right asleep. But for Kion, another rough night was inbound. Looking up at the stars was all he could do. It was beautiful, and if every great King of the past was up there, one day his dad would be also, and Kiara would be with the great Queens of the past, just like his mom. But with every passing moment, Kion felt a weight lifted off his shoulders, and was slowly enjoying his time in this amazing place. He was finally soaking in all of the sun and joy that he could. He felt so free, so alive, so untouchable. He was away from war for once, and was enjoying it.

Amani's P.O.V

I was cold, tired, alone. I was told to run from my home and never look back. And I haven't looked back since. I wandered upon a jungle, and at least knew that food would come naturally here. Buy in the dry season, it's perfect. And a place to rest in the shade is also perfect. I've been forced to run from my fears, and search for a new life. My old life was rough. Mistreated, misunderstood. I feel as if I had every opportunity to stay there but the voice inside me told me to run. Family, died. Friends, never had any. I was just alone. Always had been. I was adopted and made princess of the Jungle by my new parents. But this place may never be the same as my old home, I wouldn't give this up for anything.

Night was slowly falling, denying me of any sight. I knew that if help doesn't arrive soon, this  kingdom will fall. My new home. And the truth is, whoever comes to help, if anyone comes to help, will discover a secret. About the terrorists and how they got here. Who their leader is.
