"Kion, you've already contributed so much to the Jungle, and now you know of the past and the cause of this war, I think it's about time we begin training to put the plan into action.", said the King, already proud of what they'd accomplished.
"Thank you your majesty. But with all due respect, who do we train. There are only a few guards compared to Shetani's army and if the Jungle Watch had to be everywhere else, how can we lure Shetani into a battle he can't get out of.", asked Kion, who was a little bit nervous but the calmness of the environment was enough to calm him down.
"I understand your concern and that is an issue that must be addressed by making alliances and gaining support as soon as possible.", replied the King, his usual cheery demeanour concealed by doubt.
"Well if it's alliances you want, you have one in the Pridelands. And Ono should be back there now. Maybe he'll bring some help. And I could ask my grandfather to ask them for support.", said Kion, optimistic that help could come.
"I do believe that could work. Thank you Kion. But you deserve a chance to explore for now. There are guards stationed around the border so you shouldn't run into any trouble.", replied the King, the happiness once again in his face.
"Okay. Well see you later your majesty.", said Kion, eager to explore.
"You too. Oh Kion", the King added, "No need for formalities."
Kion nodded before racing off into the unknown. He was just wanting to explore. On his way he saw many animals who were very friendly. Many were trading food for food. The rest were just enjoying each other's company. Though they all greeted Kion when he was going past. Then they went back to their normal lives. Nothing unexpected really. As Kion approached the most southern point of the Kingdom, he was engulfed by quiet. He felt like he was alone, so he decided to just sit there and enjoy the view. There were little paths and holes through the foliage which allowed light to pass through, warming up Kion's golden fur. There wasn't much here really, but it was quiet and seemed safe enough. He saw a watering hole and suddenly realised he was parched since he hadn't drank in a while. So while he drank, oblivious to his surroundings, someone decided to introduce themselves.
And now we introduce the second main character in this book. So far she hasn't had too much of a role but this is where things take a romantic turn - Enjoy!
Kion's P.O.V
As far as I knew, I was alone. I mean, everything looked so untouched by war. And I guess that makes sense. I mean, this place was where Faraji's army volunteered to help fight, so I guess the battle never came here. And this is the furthest reaches of the Kingdom. This whole place can make you forget everything, with its mystical, magical vibe, the kindness from residents and the hope for a better tomorrow. It makes me feel like I have to do this.
Then suddenly, I heard something. I was just drinking water, taking in all the sights, but I felt strange. I knew there was someone there but I didn't think about preparing myself for anything. My instincts told me to trust whoever was there.
"Hello.", I said, "Is anyone there?"
Despite asking this I felt stupid. I mean, I should've just yelled show yourself or something. I knew someone was there. But for some reason, I didn't.
I waited, expecting someone to come out. Perhaps to attack me, as it was most-likely an enemy, or at least someone I didn't know. And as expected, someone came out of the foliage. And I saw the most beautiful lioness I'd ever seen. She was smiling, walking towards me calmly, and I saw the mark on her head. It looked familiar. Like the prince's. I soon realised she was the princess, Princess Amani.
