Chapter 5

I huff loudly annoyed looking through Stu's truck window looking for any sign of him being there recently.

"Why are you so worried about Stu anyway," Tatum asks a few feet away, annoyed by holding up her purse.

"We'll we kinda kissed then he suddenly left saying not a word," I try to rush out but Tatum jumps surprised clutching her pearls.

"Shut up, you guys kissed? He's been wanting to do that forever good for you Stu," she cheers. I roll my eyes thinking she wouldn't be saying that if she knew what he pulled last year with Billy.

"Mara you know I love you but we have to get to our classes," she reminds me impatiently I hesitate for a moment looking through the truck one more time before following her I could already tell this day was gonna suck.

Classes went by pretty fast despite the fact I was distracted in most of them. Stu was nowhere to be seen all day. I was worried. Was he avoiding me because of the kiss or what it was about to lead to? Or maybe he was guilty about Billy.

Mickey slams his tray down next to me bringing me out of my thoughts. "So Tatum about this Pink party.. I just don't think I can make it," he teases her but she rolls her eyes simply replying.

"Who said you were invited,"

He holds a hand over his heart letting out a fake ouch.

"It took me forever to book this place, you know how many people I had to boss around?" she starts to rant making me laugh sometimes I cannot with her.

Randy walks up to our table clearing his throat. Sidney turns to him, giving him an immediate smile. "Hey Randy, what's up?"

He gulps before turning to Derek who gives him a thumbs up whispering that he had this. "I wanna take you to a Drive-In theater. Not as a date..wait what am I saying? Yes as a date but a date with me."

By the time he's done Sidney's cheeks are flamed red as she tries to keep her eyes on him and away from everyone's stares. "Yes. I'd love that,"

His eyes go wide in surprise as he looks from her then to Derek then back to her, "Really? You know what I'll take it before you change your mind," he says quickly kissing her cheek before leaving.

"Good for him the geek finally got the girl," Tatum teases, rolling her eyes.

"Now it's my turn," Mickey says before turning to me. It only takes two seconds for me to realize what he meant.

"Don't even," I scoff, grabbing my things and not turning back as I walk away from them. Mickey always joked like that, sometimes it was annoying other times he made me smile against my will. I almost roll my eyes into my head when I see Gale Weathers blocking my exit out of the lunch area.

"I just wanna talk. Off the record," she defends holding her hands up.

"Like anything you say is off the record. Read your book by the way, love how you seemed to write so much about my life in so much detail when I can count the three times we ever spoke on my hand."
