“ Yesenia, can you help me with this trunk?”  I asked from the next room as I tried pulling the large trunk my mother had packed. It was all her latest style dresses she had gotten in Milan and in Paris during our tour around Europe. She always spent as much money as she could on useless things, she only would wear them once and they would sit in her closet for 30 years.

“ Of course Madam.” She soon walked over and helped me pull the trunk towards the large sitting room of the suite.

We placed it in front of the couch and I sighed as I sat in one of the plush chairs. “ Thank you Yesenia.”

She bowed and nodded. “ Yes madam.” She then turned around and walked away to go bring in more of the luggage.

I looked away from her and at the room. It was decorated in a more gothic style architecture. Beautiful wood trim and paneling covered a good portion of the room and the carpet was a new expensive black type of carpet with a bunch of reds and blues mixed in which brought it together nicely. But it was too much for me… too much wealth…

I nearly had a heart attack when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I quickly jumped back and looked back. I saw it was Jonathan. We both made eye contact. He laughed as he saw me get spooked. “ It’s just me darling. You scare easily.”

I brushed my dress off with my hands and composed myself and forced a smile. “ Yes… I do. What do you need… darling?”

“ Nothing. I just love being within your presence.” He moved behind me and whispered in my ear.

I wanted to vomit. But I kept control and looked back at him and forced another smile. “ I love… being in your presence as well darling.”

He smiled and started to pull my hat off my head and he started kissing my neck. I quickly pulled away. “ Oh… Jonathan not now.”

He let out a heavy groan and fixed his tie. “ Fine. Now go help your mother and sister with the luggage.”

He walked away towards the direction of the bedroom. Asshole… I thought as I sat back down on the couch and sighed. I stayed like that for a few minutes until I heard someone walk into the room. “ What now Charlotte?” I heard my mother’s voice ask.

I rolled my eyes and turned and looked at her. “ Nothing Mother. I’m just fine.”

She took off her hat and gently placed it on the table in front of me. “ Alright then. I am going to go unpack the rest of my things into my room.” She walked over towards the door to her room and she pulled it open.

“ Alright mother.” I replied, trying to not sound annoyed.

I sat up from the couch and I walked over towards the door and walked out into the hallway in front of our room. I looked down both sides and saw a few people strolling and looking for their rooms.

I let out a small sigh under my breath and walked down the hallway towards the main staircase towards the front. I walked past a few other people I recognized and nodded my head at them to try and be polite and they nodded back at me.

I stopped and looked at the staircase. It certainly was beautiful… The staircase was decorated in oak wood, with oak wood columns carved with unique and intricate designs of flowers and angels, and the entire room was painted beautiful, like something out of a fairytale story.

I walked up the staircase and looked up at the beautiful stained glass dome overhead. It was decorated with blues and reds, purples, yellows, every color you could imagine. I continued walking up the steps until I reached the top. I peered down over the railing and saw how far it went down. Pretty far.

I sighed and tried looking around for the door to the boatdeck. Thankfully I saw it. It was 2 double oak wood doors opened out to a wide boat deck. I walked through the double doors and heard the tap of my heels as I hit the wooden floor of the boatdeck.

I walked towards the crowds gathered towards the barriers and they were waving goodbye down to the people on the pier below. I quickly slipped in between and looked down at the crowd below. They were waving and shouting goodbyes in languages that I couldn’t understand.

I sighed and stepped away from the barriers filled with people and I headed back inside towards the staircase to explore the ship some more. I walked back in through the double doors and descended down the stairs again.

Later on that night after the Carmen had departed from Southampton. Yesenia was helping me put on my dinner gown. It was a dress decorated in dark blue lace and with a lighter blue located underneath the lace. The shoes I was wearing were dark blue velvet looking ones with vine like designs on both sides of the shoe. My hair was in a pompadour do.

I stood still as Yesenia put a necklace draped with diamonds and jewels around my neck. It felt very heavy. She handed me a pair of blue sapphire earrings. I put both of my ears and then looked up at myself in the mirror.  “ You look beautiful madam.” Yesenia replied as she stepped back to look me over.

I smiled slightly. “ Thank you Yesenia.”

She nodded and looked over my dress some more to make sure I looked elegant. The door to my room opened and I turned and saw Jonathan enter the room. He was dressed in a simple black suit with a white bow tie and his shoes were black and freshly polished. His hair was combed back and he looked like what he was. A rich man.

“ Yesenia you are dismissed.” Jonathan said as he pointed with his finger to the door.

She quickly curtsied. “ Yes sir.” She quickly walked out of the room and shut the door behind her.

Jonathan watched her walk out and he looked at me. A smile crossed his lips. “ You look beautiful my dear.”

I sighed and faked a smile. “ Thank you.”

He walked towards me and put his hand on my shoulder. I shuddered as I felt his cold palm on my skin. “ After this trip. We get to go home and have some alone time. All to ourselves.”

God if there was anything you could do at this moment. Please kill this bastard. I turned and looked at him. “ That will be nice…”

He nodded and smiled. “ Shall we go to dinner now Charlotte?”

I nodded my head at him back. “ Yes… we don’t want to keep my sister and mother waiting any longer than they should.”

He held his arm out for me to take. I let out a quiet sigh and slowly interlocked my arm with his and forced a smile. Time to get tonight over with…

We exited my stateroom and we started heading out down the hallway towards the main staircase to where the main dining hall or dining room was located on the ship. I knew this dinner was gonna be boring as hell. But I had to get through it like always.
