AUTHOR'S POVMrs Rajvansh was in the kitchen, baking a cake for her daughter-in-law, Prisha. She was excited as ever, as Prisha was pregnant and had been craving a cake for days now. As she was busy mixing the batter, she couldn't help but let out a contented sigh.
'"What are you making, Mumma?" Prisha walked into the kitchen, her hands resting on her growing belly.
"Making a cake for my laddoo and my grandchild." Mrs Rajvansh smiled warmly at her.
Prisha smiled back and gave her mother-in-law a hug. "You are the best, Mumma. I have been craving homemade cake for days now."
Mrs Rajvansh patted her back gently as she broke the embrace. "I know, dear. I know how it feels to crave something during pregnancy." She chuckled. "I remember craving for pickle and mangoes and cakes when I was pregnant with Abhiman."
Prisha nodded in agreement and took a seat at the kitchen counter. "I just can't wait to hold my babies in my arms."
Mrs Rajvansh laughed heartily. "Don't we all, dear? Don't we all?"
Mrs Rajvansh spoke while mixing the cake batter "Prisha, dear, do you want to help me with the cake?"
Prisha excitedly replied back "Yes, Mumma! I love baking with you."
" You know, I used to bake with my mother when I was pregnant with Abhiman." Mrs Rajvansh exclaimed.
Prisha giggled "I didn't know that."
Abhiman's mother said while placing the cake pan in the oven "Oh yes, I craved cakes all the time when I was pregnant with him."
Prisha smiled and said "Is that why Maan loves cakes so much?"
Abhiman's mother chuckled before saying "Maybe. But I think it's just in our blood. My mother was a great baker too."
"Speaking of your mother, where is dadi-sa? It's almost time for her to take her medicines"Prisha said as her mind diverted towards Abhiman's grandmother.
" She's out for a walk. She'll be back soon." Abhiman's mother said to which prisha nodded her head.
Just then, Abhiman's grandmother, Mrs Rajvansh's mother-in-law, enters the kitchen.
"Ah, there she is." Abhiman's mother said looking at Abhiman's grandmother coming towards the kitchen.
" What are you two up to?" Abhiman's grandmother asked and smiled as she saw them both in the kitchen.
"We're making a cake. Prisha's craving for it." Abhiman's mother said with a small smile glistening over her lips
"Ah, it's so lovely to see you two bond over baking." Abhiman's grandmother said
Prisha immediately asked "Do you bake too, Dadi-sa?"
Abhiman's grandmother smiled before answering "I used to, your dadu used to love it"
" Prisha beta, how are you feeling today"' Abhiman's grandmother gave Prisha a warm smile.
"I am feeling really really good today" Prisha replied, smiling back.
Abhiman's grandmother walked over to the kitchen counter and peeked into the bowl of cake batter. "What flavour is it?"
"black forest. She has been craving for it." Mrs Rajvansh replied with a smile.
Abhiman's grandmother nodded and then turned to face both Prisha and Mrs Rajvansh. "I have some news for you both."
Mrs Rajvansh and Prisha exchanged curious looks and then turned their attention to Abhiman's grandmother.
